Dannell Ellerbe Doesn't Practice

Dannell Ellerbe sat out the Ravens' first practice in preparation for Super Bowl XLVII.

The starting inside linebacker has been dealing with an ankle injury for a couple months and a back ailment was added to the injury report in the week leading up to the AFC championship.

Neither injury has kept Ellerbe out of a game, and it would be surprising to see it affect his status for the Super Bowl.

Ellerbe was the only Ravens player to miss practice. Defensive tackle Haloti Ngata (knee), tight end Dennis Pitta (thigh), cornerback Asa Jackson (thigh) and wide receiver David Reed (thigh) were limited.

The Ravens had 14 players listed as full participants, including Ray Lewis (triceps), Ed Reed (shoulder) and Terrell Suggs (achilles/biceps).

The 49ers have a lingering issue with linebacker Ahmad Brooks (shoulder), who missed his second straight practice along with tight end Garrett Celek (foot).

Star outside linebacker Aldon Smith (shoulder), running back Bruce Miller (shoulder) and cornerback Tarell Brown (shoulder) were all limited.
