Important NFL Dates to Know in 2019

As the Ravens' offseason gets kicked into high gear and you're marking up your calendar for 2019, there are some key NFL dates to circle.

Here's what you should be on the lookout for this offseason. And remember, our coverage never stops. Think the season's over? Think again.

January 26: Senior Bowl

Many of the draft's top senior prospects will head to Mobile, Ala. for the annual all-star game and the scouting world will descend upon the sleepy southern town. The Ravens have a long history of taking players in the draft that catch their eye in the days of practices leading up to the game. This year's rosters will be coached by the Raiders' Jon Gruden and 49ers' Kyle Shanahan.

January 27: Pro Bowl

The Ravens will have three Pro Bowl representatives in Orlando with safety Eric Weddle, linebacker C.J. Mosley and guard Marshal Yanda. The real fun is seeing the best players from around the league interact with each other in "practices" leading up to the game. The AFC vs. NFC game will be played at Camping World Stadium at 3 p.m.

Feb. 2: Pro Football Hall of Fame class announced

Ravens fans should expect to hear Ed Reed's name announced as part of the 2019 Pro Football Hall of Fame class. Reed is a virtual lock to join Jonathan Ogden and Ray Lewis as Ravens Hall of Famers. It's part of the NFL Honors program, which is also where the Walter Payton Man of the Year will be announced. Brandon Carr is the Ravens' nominee.

Feb. 26-March 4: NFL Scouting Combine

Indianapolis will be buzzing once again as the top prospects from around the country convene to have their athleticism tested, interview with teams, meet with doctors and speak to the media.

March 5: Deadline to designate franchise or transition tag players

Teams can begin designating franchise players on Feb. 19 at 4 p.m. March 5 is the deadline. The Ravens' only candidate would be Mosley.

March 13: Start of the new league year

The "tampering" window for teams to begin talking to free agents opens on March 11. Players officially hit the open market at 4 p.m. on March 13. The Ravens' pending unrestricted free agents are Mosley, OLB Terrell Suggs, OLB Za'Darius Smith, WR John Brown, QB Robert Griffin III, DE Brent Urban, TE Maxx Williams, TE Nick Boyle, RB Javorius Allen and RB Ty Montgomery.

March 24-27: Annual League Meeting

This year's power summit will be in Phoenix, Ariz., as all 32 owners, head coaches and other important people from around the NFL will converge to discuss new league rules and other league matters, rub elbows and more.

Mid-April: 2019 schedule announced

The Ravens already know their opponents, but the dates and times will be announced sometime around this time. The preseason scheduled usually comes out a couple weeks before.

April 15: Strength and conditioning program begins

Players will return to the Under Armour Performance Center to kick off the preparation for the 2019 season with the start of the strength and conditioning program, led by Steve Saunders and his crew.

April 19: Deadline for restricted free agents to sign

Restricted free agents must sign their offer sheets. The Ravens' restricted free agents are RB Alex Collins, DL Michael Pierce, ILB Patrick Onwuasor and CB Stanley Jean-Baptiste.

April 25-27: NFL Draft

This year's three-day draft will be held in Nashville, Tenn. The Ravens have pick No. 22 in the first round.

May 3-6 or May 10-13: Rookie minicamp

The Ravens will get their first on-field look at their rookie class shortly after the draft.

Mid-May: Start of organized team activities

It's voluntary, but much of Baltimore's roster will report for a few weeks of practices.

Mid-June: Mandatory minicamp

All of the Ravens' roster will take the field for a few days of practices.

Mid-July: Training camp begins

This is when the practices hit another level of intensity as Baltimore gets ready for the 2019 season.

August 1-4: Hall of Fame Weekend

Ravens fans will likely make another pilgrimage to Canton, Ohio for the second straight year to watch Reed get his gold jacket. The Hall of Fame Game, which the Ravens played in last year, is on Aug. 1.

August 31: Roster finalized

Coaches will set the Ravens' 2019 roster by 4 p.m.
