Rumor Mill: Ravens 2018 Roster Cuts/Additions

The Ravens and all NFL teams cut their rosters to 53 players Saturday. Now begins the process of making tweaks and building a practice squad.

Below are media reports on the Ravens' moves:

Signed (practice squad): CB Cyrus Jones

The 2016 second-round pick didn't pan out for the New England Patriots, but he'll reportedly get a second chance back home. A star at Gilman School in Baltimore, Jones went on to Alabama, where he became a standout cornerback and returner. He played in 10 games for the Patriots as a rookie, but missed his entire sophomore season because of a torn ACL in last year's final preseason game.

Signed (practice squad): RB De'Lance Turner

The Ravens had three undrafted running backs stand out this summer with De'Lance Turner, Mark Thompson and Gus Edwards. Turner emerged from the pack late in the preseason. The undrafted rookie out of Alcorn State ripped off a 65-yard touchdown in Miami, then had a nifty 28-yard run against Washington. He has shown good feet and quickness.

Signed (practice squad): RB Gus Edwards

Edwards appeared to have the lead in the undrafted running back battle in training camp and the early part of the preseason before a reported foot injury sidelined him. The former Rutgers star ran for 53 yards, including a 25-yard gain, in the first half of the Ravens' second preseason game against the Los Angeles Rams.

Signed (practice squad): OG Nico Siragusa

The Ravens are bringing back 2016 fourth-round offensive lineman Nico Siragusa, who was part of the team's cuts Saturday. Siragusa is still working his way fully back from major knee surgery a year ago, but has definitely improved over the summer.

Signed (practice squad): WR Tim White

Baltimore picked undrafted rookie Janarion Grant for the 53-man roster but is reportedly keeping wide receiver/returner Tim White on the practice squad as a reserve option. White flashed his talent as an undrafted rookie last year before spending the season on injured reserve (broken hand).

Signed (practice squad): OL Randin Crecelius

The undrafted rookie out of Portland State was among the Ravens' best backup offensive linemen and showed position flexibility.

Released: WR Breshad Perriman
(Source: NFL Network)
Breshad Perriman, the Ravens' first-round pick in 2015, has been informed of his release. According to Ian Rapoport, the Ravens tried to trade Perriman first, but he will now hit waivers. Perriman had a difficult three years in Baltimore, starting with missing his entire rookie season because of a knee injury and finishing with just 10 catches for 77 yards last season. The talented speedster was given another chance to break out this offseason, but was plagued by the same inconsistencies.

Released: TE Darren Waller
(Source: ESPN)
Darren Waller had some impressive practices after being reinstated from a one-year NFL suspension, but it wasn't enough to grab a spot on the 53-man roster. The 6-foot-6 pass-catching tight end does have practice squad eligibility.

Released: OL Cameron Lee
(Source: The Athletic)
The Ravens added the veteran offensive lineman in late July, but he didn't beat out Baltimore's younger options.

Released: RB De'Lance Turner
(Source: Penn Live)
The undrafted rookie out of Alcorn State was a Ravens standout this preseason. He ripped off a 65-yard touchdown in Miami, then had a nifty 28-yard run against the Redskins. He has shown good feet and quickness, and could land on the practice squad.

Released: WR Andre Levrone
(Source: The Athletic)
The undrafted rookie out of Virginia stood out at times during practice with his size (6-2, 222) and speed combination. He was at a crowded position, however, and isn't a returner. He could be a practice squad candidate.

Released: LB Albert McClellan
(Source: The Athletic)
McClellan has long been a valuable special teams captain and versatile linebacker. However, he is entering his eighth season, 32 years old and coming off a season-ending knee injury.

Released: WR Tim White
(Source: Penn Live)
Entering his second year with the Ravens, the 2017 undrafted free agent had a shot to win the Ravens' special teams returner spot but didn't emerge in the preseason. He flashed his potential last year but his season was ended by a broken hand in the preseason.

Released: G Nico Siragusa
(Source: NFL Network)
A fourth-round pick last year, Siragusa suffered a major knee injury in training camp that ended his season before it started. Siragusa worked to get back on the field this summer, but was still working to get all the way back.

Released: OL Randin Crecelius
(Source: Brett Tessler)
The undrafted guard/tackle from Portland performed well in camp and even started a preseason game at left tackle.

Released: TE Nick Keizer
(Source: The Athletic)

The undrafted rookie out of Grand Valley State flashed in some offseason practices by making tough catches, but he was at a crowded position with two veterans (Nick Boyle and Maxx Williams) and two high rookie draft picks (Hayden Hurst and Mark Andrews).
