The Preakness is a Maryland treasure.
So what the heck is New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady doing there? And who does he think he is chatting it up with Ravens wide receiver Torrey Smith?
The two "chopped it up" for a few minutes and Smith called Brady a "hell of a competitor" on his Instagram profile. (Mobile users click "View In Browser" above).
In all seriousness, it's not unusual to see two competitors from rival teams being friendly. The Steelers' Troy Polamalu and Ed Reed were good friends, and former Steelers safety Ryan Clark once came into the Ravens locker room after a game to joke around with players.
Even though they're intense* *against one another on the field, there's a mutual respect off of it. Still, I wouldn't expect to see Terrell Suggs with his arm around Brady anytime soon.
Quite the socialite, Smith met many more celebrities at Preakness other than Brady, including former boxer Mike Tyson, retired four-star general and former Secretary of State Colin Powell, rapper Nas (who performed at the race) and "Duck Dynasty" star Willie Roberts.
Smith also chilled with Atlanta Falcons wide receivers Roddy White and Julio Jones, and Green Bay Packers receiver Randall Cobb. Jones and Cobb were in Smith's same 2011 NFL Draft class.
Check out the pics, and the video of Smith talking about his wife-selected wardrobe and the party at the Under Armour tent, where he met the celebs. Smith had quite the day.
