Head Coach John Harbaugh

Opening statement:"OK, good to see you guys – appreciate you being here. Good practice. It cooled down for us, which was helpful, and we're getting ready to go on Sunday. All eyes, all of our attention, is pointed towards Sunday at 1 p.m. We have a lot of preparation still to do, but we have a lot under our belt. Tough opponent coming in, big challenge, important game, and we hope to be at our best on Sunday."

We saw ILB C.J. Mosley out at practice yesterday. What did you learn about him and his injury? _(Aaron Kasinitz) _"The injury report is coming out. It's a very creative way to ask the question, though. I appreciate it."

I know you have the game ahead, but I have to ask you about the fine situation. It's the first chance to ask you about it. Did it surprise you? Did you know it was coming, and were you surprised that it was involving the preseason? (Jerry Coleman)"All I know is that Ozzie [Newsome] told me about a week ago, that they were talking about it from the preseason games. [It was the] first time I had heard anything about it, and that's it."

How many players were involved? _(Jerry Coleman) _"I don't know, however many guys had helmets with green dots on them. I don't know the details of it. It's one of those things where I don't think you get too worked up about it. A lot of people in this building – our phone guys, our coach-to-audio technology guys, our equipment guys – do a great job. They work very hard. They try to know all the rules. There are a lot of rules. They go to the meetings. They listen, and they thought the rule was a certain way, and that's how they did it. They've been doing it that way for years. It's just what it is."

All due respect, a couple of follow-ups, really quickly. For it to get by so many coaches, was that … (Jerry Coleman) "Coaches have nothing to do with that. Our coach calls the play. It's not like we're looking at what helmet a guy has on. We don't fit guys with helmets. We don't put phones in helmets. It's not what we do." (Reporter: "And the reaction from Steve [Bisciotti]?) "He didn't have any reaction. You're making way too much of it, way too much of it."

I know this was an isolated incident with this, but you guys have been fined quite a bit. _(Jerry Coleman) _"Way to spoil the mood. Way to spoil the mood. Your implication is just … I don't even want to talk about it, because it's so insulting. So, I'm just going to stay out of it and stay away from it. But, I appreciate you asking it, and it just is. It just is. We do the best we can. We have guys who, people who, are pros, who work hard. You want me to come out here and start rolling people under the bus who work hard, who make a living at what they do and do their best? You want me to start saying it's somebody's fault? It's preseason. They didn't think there was a rule that applied to the preseason for fitting guys in different helmets. How many guys, how many helmets do you want to have ready for the preseason? We could have two helmets for everybody. What's the expense on that? So, that was their feeling on that. That's what he thought the rule was, they thought the rule was. There's no advantage gained. There's no edge gained. I'm just like the rest of our coaches and everybody in this building [in that] we're focused on the Broncos and focused on football, not focused on a bunch of peripheral things that are absolutely unimportant and don't matter."

We know about CB Brandon Carr as a leader. How impressed have you been with the way he has played the first two weeks, especially knowing you're without CB Jimmy Smith the first four games, the way he has stepped up? _(Luke Jones) _"Yes, he's done a great job. Brandon is a pro. He has a track record. It's been a real honor to sit here and watch him work and see how he goes about his business every single day. I've enjoyed that, and that's who he is. It's incredible. It's a statement. He deserves a lot of credit for what he continues to accomplish in this league."

When RB Kenneth Dixon went on IR, you could've brought up either RB Gus Edwards or RB De'Lance Turner. What did you like about De'Lance? (Ed Lee) "Yes, we liked De'Lance. There's no comparison between the two guys. Both guys are really good guys, and either one of them could've been brought up and could've played. We'll see how De'Lance does. He's working hard. So is Gus, and so are all of our guys on the practice squad. That's what those guys are here for. They're here to be ready to go when called upon and play at the same level that all the other guys are playing. I'm looking forward to seeing De'Lance do that."

Weather forecast looks like it could be similar to Week 1, which wasn't so bad for you guys. Have you looked it? (Jerry Coleman) _"Oh, the rain? I really haven't. What is the forecast? I heard rain."(Reporter: "Chance of showers.")"60 [degrees] and chance of showers?"(Reporter: "Football weather.")_"Yes, it's good. I'm just happy to get a little cooler weather. It's been pretty hot the last two days. Guys work hard, but at this time of year, we don't need heat too much. We want to practice in weather we can get the most work done, so it was really nice to have it cool off a little bit today."

When you guys put CB Maurice Canady on IR, CB Darious Williams scooted up the depth chart. What have you seen from him specifically? (Aaron Kasinitz)"What specifically could I tell you about Darious Williams? He's a good player. He has quick feet; he has really good body control and good hands. I think he has the ability to stick to a receiver; that's a natural thing. He's right there now as he walks past. We're talking about you, buddy! It's all good! (laughter) He has a great smile, as you can see. So, all those things, yes."
