One of the under-the-radar storylines of Saturday's divisional playoff game …
Will Wink Martindale meet Wink Martindale?
A couple weeks ago, the 86-year-old game show host told TMZ that he wanted an invite to a Ravens game because Ravens Defensive Coordinator Don "Wink" Martindale goes by that nickname.
"I think I'm gonna sue him for using my name," Wink joked. "I love it. I get mentioned on Ravens games. I love it. … Get the word to him, I want an invite."
With the Ravens getting ready to open their playoffs with a divisional game against the Tennessee Titans at M&T Bank Stadium, the Ravens' Wink said the offer is on the table.
"We offered. We sent an email to his people," Martindale said Thursday. "It's up to him if he wants to go. I think it would be great."
The Ravens' Martindale got the nickname from a good college buddy, Donald Brown, during his freshman year at Defiance College. Back then, the game show host was quite popular on "Tic-Tac-Dough," which was on the air from 1978-1985.
What's kind of funny is that neither is actually "Wink" because the game show host's birth name is Winston. So we'll see if Don meets Winston on Saturday.
