John Harbaugh Takes Ravens to African American History Museum

Posted Sep 1, 2017

The Ravens continue to give their players an education on American history this summer. Earlier in training camp, they went to Arlington National Cemetery and the Pentagon. The day after their preseason finale, the team bussed back down to Washington, D.C.

Ravens players continued to get a front-row education on American history this summer.

Head Coach John Harbaugh took the team to the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, D.C. Friday evening.

The trip cames the day after the Ravens concluded their preseason slate with a 14-13 win in New Orleans. The team will have their first “regular season” practice Saturday afternoon and final cuts are due by 4 p.m.

Powerful trip to the @nmaahc today.

Opened last September, the museum has drawn rave reviews for its display of nearly 37,000 artifacts, documents, photographs and other media. It dives into subjects such as community, family, literature, music, politics, religion, segregation and slavery.

On Aug. 21, the Ravens visited the Pentagon and Arlington National Cemetery, where Navy graduate Keenan Reynolds and former Marine Otha Foster laid the wreath on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

Below are photos and videos from social media of the team's visit to the museum.
