The Ravens' 53-man roster is coming more into focus.

Baltimore has placed defensive tackle Carl Davis and safety Matt Elam on injured reserve and officially signed returner Devin Hester.

The Ravens still have one more open roster spot that will reportedly be used to bring back running back Justin Forsett.

The Ravens will now have Davis and Elam to choose from to bring back from injured reserve later this year after the first six weeks. Or, if they add any others to IR from this point forward, those players would also be candidates for return. The Ravens can only choose one to activate.

Davis suffered an ankle injury in the final preseason game. Though it's not season-ending, Davis would miss some time.

Davis played in 13 games last year and started three. He made 11 tackles and two passes defensed, and was slated to be a reserve defensive lineman.

Elam suffered a knee injury when hitting it on the turf in the first preseason game. The 2013 first-round pick missed all of last year because of a training camp biceps injury, but was having a strong training camp. He was headed for a backup safety role.

Hester holds the all-time NFL record for return touchdowns and adds stability and a dynamic element to Baltimore's special teams unit.
