Ravens Reach Three-Year Deal With Anthony Levine

Posted Mar 10, 2017

Baltimore retained a key special teams player and versatile defensive back. Levine, 29, has been a key role player for the Ravens over the past five seasons.

The Ravens have re-signed defensive back Anthony Levine Sr. to a three-year contract, keeping a leading special teamer and versatile secondary piece in the fold.

Levine, 29, has been a key role player over the past five seasons in Baltimore, and played in all 16 games the last four years.

He’s grown into a core special teams player alongside linebacker Albert McClellan, and helps guide the unit from a communication perspective. He made 11 tackles, including four on special teams last season.

The Ravens have won more games because of their special teams unit than any team in the league (both via blocked kicks/punts and game-winning field goals), and Levine has been a big part of that success.

Levine is also a versatile defensive back who saw 109 snaps on defense last season at both slot cornerback and strong safety. He can even drop into the box to play a roving linebacker role.

Over his career with the Ravens, Levine has started three games, made 59 tackles, four passes defensed and one forced fumble.

The Ravens are still looking to add youth in their secondary, and could do so via the draft.
