The Ravens are gathering information about an altercation during Sunday’s game that has put a Ravens fan in critical condition at Maryland Shock Trauma.
Joseph Bauer, 55, was struck in the head by another fan near the end of the Ravens’ 28-27 loss, per The Baltimore Sun.
Susan Bauer told The Sun that her brother’s head hit the concrete, knocking him unconscious and causing a serious head injury. Team President Dick Cass talked with Susan Bauer this morning.
Two people were arrested by Baltimore police, The Sun reported. They are both from New York and were charged with first- and second-degree assault.
Here is the Ravens’ statement on the incident:
“Our sympathies and prayers go out to Mr. Joseph Bauer, his wife Sharon and the rest of his family. We have reached out to the family and have received a report on Mr. Bauer’s condition.
“We are deeply concerned about this assault and are learning as much as we can about it. Safety for our fans is a top priority. Confrontational and inflammatory behavior is never tolerated and is unacceptable at Ravens home games.”
