So...where is the beard? https://t.co/adJJyNHCgj — Baltimore Ravens (@Ravens) March 16, 2016

You know those spur-of-the-moment decisions that you immediately regret? You know, like eating a massive burger just for the sport of it?

Well, that's how Eric Weddle feels about shaving his big, bushy beard.

Weddle shaved his beard on Feb. 2 and everybody keeps asking why the heck he would make such a rash decision.

"I'm regretting the second that I shaved it," Weddle said.

"I miss it. I see it and I'm like, 'Gosh, why did I cut it?'"

Here's the timeline of the cut:

Weddle began growing out the beard at the start of the 2013 season in honor of his father, Steven Weddle, who had a similar beard when he was younger.

However, the beard started to get a tad out of hand.

"It was spur-of-the-moment," Weddle said. "I was working out one morning and I got done, and it was just everywhere. It was sweat and water and who knows – probably bugs in there. And I'm like, 'What am I doing? I look ridiculous right now.'"

Weddle came home and told his wife, Chanel, that he was cutting it off. She told him to wait to do something cool with it, but Weddle didn't have the patience. It had to go.

Now the beard is talked about almost like a lost family member. After all, it had a life of its own. Weddle's official Twitter handle is @weddlesbeard.

"It was awesome," he said. "Luckily, in the NFL, they don't care what you look like as long as you play good. I might have to bring it back now. I'm getting too many people asking me. I need to bring it back."

There is one bonus of the cleaner look, however …

"I get more kisses now, and that's important to keep your wife happy," he said.

Weddle may have the inside track on best team beard, but Joe Flacco will always have the best (and by best, I really mean worst) fu manchu.
