Browns Suspend Receiver Josh Gordon

The Ravens won't have to worry about facing wide receiver Josh Gordon Sunday.

The talented receiver was suspended by the Browns for the Week 17 matchup at M&T Bank Stadium Sunday. The Browns announced that Gordon had violated team rules, and multiple reports said that Gordon skipped Saturday's practice. Rookie quarterback Johnny Manziel, who is on injured reserve,  also reportedly skipped practice.

Gordon, who led the NFL in receiving yards last year, also missed the Week 3 matchup against the Ravens because he served a 10-game suspension to open the year for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.

Gordon's absence should make things easier for the Ravens secondary, as he is Cleveland's best big-play threat.

The Ravens will face a short-handed Browns team in the regular-season finale, as Cleveland also lost top quarterbacks Manziel and Brian Hoyer to injuries last week.

Undrafted rookie Connor Shaw will get his first career start Sunday for the Browns.
