The Baltimore Ravens announced Tuesday the launch of their #FeedTheFlock food collection efforts, in conjunction with Giant Food and the Maryland Food Bank (MFB). For the past 21 years, the Ravens have supported the MFB, the largest charitable food provider in Maryland.

Ravens DT Brandon Williams, spokesman and ambassador for the MFB, asks fans to do their part to help the more than 760,000 people in our state who don't know where their next meal may come from. "As a kid chasing my dreams on the field and in the classroom, I experienced firsthand what it means to be hungry," said Williams. "Through my story, I hope to magnify the valuable impact that the Ravens food drive and the Maryland Food Bank have on families in need in our community."

Detailed below are a variety of ways fans are encouraged to donate to the collection:

  • Fans are encouraged to help #FeedTheFlock by donating online to the team's virtual drive organized by the Ravens and the MFB. All those who donate will be entered for a chance to win a pair of tickets to the Ravens vs. Eagles game on Sunday, Dec. 18. To donate, please visit the Ravens Food and Funds Drive Team Page.
  • On Thursday, Nov. 3, members of the Ravens All Community Team (ACT) will volunteer at the Maryland Food Bank to help sort and pack food for distribution to hungry families all across Maryland. The ACT is comprised of Baltimore corporations, including title sponsor M&T Bank, who provide financial and volunteer support to many Ravens community service projects. Representatives will be on-hand to discuss the 2016 food collection efforts and help reinforce its importance to the Ravens for over 20 years.
  • Giant Food, the official supermarket and pharmacy of the Ravens and proud title sponsor of Purple, the official Baltimore Ravens Women's Club, will collect non-perishable items for the food collection efforts in over 50 area stores from Nov. 18 through Dec. 8.
  • Fans can stop by the Ravens Tailgaters celebration on Saturday, Nov. 26 at the Giant Food store in Ellicott City, Md. and stock up for their Sunday tailgate. Ravens Cheerleaders, team mascot Poe and 98Rock will all be on-hand for the celebration. Fans in attendance have the chance to win great prizes, including a VIP game day package to an upcoming game, and are encouraged to bring and donate non-perishable food items. Visit www.baltimoreravens.com/tailgaters for more information regarding times and locations.
  • Collection efforts will be enhanced with the 21st annual Ravens Family Food & Funds Drive, sponsored by Giant Food, when the Ravens host the Bengals on Sunday, Nov. 27 at M&T Bank Stadium. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Maryland Food Bank and M&T Bank volunteers will be joined by the Lady Ravens Association, a group comprised of Ravens players' and coaches' wives, to collect monetary and non-perishable food donations outside all M&T Bank Stadium gate entrances prior to kickoff. The final poundage collected will be calculated and distributed through the MFB. The 21st annual Ravens Family Food & Funds Drive is also supported by Von Paris, which will transport collected items from the stadium to the MFB.

Maryland Food Bank (MFB) Fast Facts:

  • Last year, the Maryland Food Bank distributed more than 120,000 meals per day – the equivalent of 44 million meals per year – to a network of more than 1,250 soup kitchens, pantries and shelters across the state. It's estimated that hungry Marylanders within the MFB service area miss nearly 90 million meals each year.
  • The MFB is mostly in need of healthy non-perishable food items, including canned proteins like tuna, chicken and peanut butter, canned fruits and vegetables, shelf-stable milk, breakfast items, rice and pasta.
