The Ravens are carrying an extraordinary amount of momentum into their first international game. With 10 turnovers, 10 points allowed, a plus-34 point differential, and a 2-0 record, there's plenty to be excited about in Baltimore. Still, with any long trip, there's bound to be a bit of jet lag. In the Ravens' case, jet lag appears in the form of 15 players on IR, Marshal Yanda and Bam Bradley being the most recent.
Many have said it, but it's worth repeating: there is no replacing Marshal Yanda. The guy is a 315-pound slab of rock, dipped in acid, who plays football like a bear that saw her cub getting poked with a stick. To replace Marshal Yanda, it takes a village … a strong, talented, cohesive village. That said, I'm a big fan of Dave Cirilli's Ewing Theory. If you're not familiar, it's that the loss of a star player, in some bizarre and mystical way, actually improves the performance of the unit. I really like that mentality. The players know they have big shoes to fill with Marshal's departure, and that type of mindset helps elevate performance across the board. In London, there's nothing to fear about the changing of the guards. !
This is technically a home game for the Jacksonville Jaguars, which may seem like a negative for them, but don't be so sure. With five straight years playing in London, the Jags are the closest thing Brits have to an NFL team. Not to worry, we have an ace in the hole and his name is Jermaine Eluemunor. Hopefully our England-born offensive lineman can swing a heavy amount of Londoners to the #RavensFlock and make Wembley feel more like M&T Bank.
