The Ravens have seen the videos and photos, they've heard the stories of the destruction in Ellicott City after last weekend's floods.

Two people were killed and more than 100 were rescued after a historic flash flood dumped almost six inches of rain, causing massive damage to homes, roads and businesses in the historic part of town.

Now the Ravens are doing their part to pitch in and help.

The Ravens are donating $10,000 to the United Way, which has launched the EC Strong Fund at the request of Howard County executives. All donations will go directly toward the relief effort.

To support the fund yourself, text the keyword "ECStrong" to 51555 or visit www.uwcm.org/EDStrong.

Ravens players also donned T-shirts proclaiming their support, which can be purchased online via 98 Rock. The proceeds from those sales will go to the Ellicott City Partnership.

Wide receiver Michael Campanaro announced the donation because he grew up in Howard County. He said his brother still lives on nearby Frederick Road, about a mile away from where the worst damage occurred.

"It hits home," Campanaro said. "One of the first things I did was text my brother to make sure he was OK. … A lot of people are helping out. I know a lot of people on the team have texted [Director of Community Relations] Heather [Darney] asking what we can do to help out."

Campanaro said seeing the photos and videos from the flood has been tough.

"I think the video that was awesome though was the video of people helping each other out getting the lady out," he said. "But the water flow and cars flying down the street. It was nuts."
