The Caw: Check Out Brandon Williams Playing 'Proper Football'

Ravens defensive tackle Brandon Williams is dominant at football.

At soccer, however, he's ... actually not that bad.

Williams and a handful of other NFL stars went to London this summer as part of a promotional tour for this year's International Series. While they were there, they tested their skills at "proper football" for a BBC Sport video.

Baltimore leaves for England next week, but count Williams already schooled in the country's favorite sport (for now). Williams and his team, Too Legit To Quit, won, and the hulking Ravens defensive lineman was declared the Man of the Match.

Too Legit To Quit was made up of Williams, Vikings wide receiver Stefon Diggs and Saints defensive end Alex Jenkins. The London Superstars had Cardinals safety Tyran Mathieu, Dolphins wide receiver Kenny Stills and Rams punter Johnny Hekker.

You know when you're watching hockey and you say to your friend, "Why don't they just put a really massive sumo wrestler guy in front of the goal to block everything?" (I'm not the only one who's thought that, right?) Well, that was the idea when Williams played* *soccer.

"I own this; this is my house," Williams said of the goal. "Ain't nobody going to come into my house and think they're going to score. Not today!"

Playing as the Too Legit To Quit goalkeeper, Williams carried his team with three saves and a goal. Here's the play-by-play:

First, Williams made an epic save on a breakaway shot by Stills, showing his quick reflexes and nimble feet to corral a rebound that nearly trickled in off his defender.

"First of all, we need a bigger goal because he's taking up too much," Mathieu said in protest.

"It ain't my fault I'm blessed!" Williams retorted.

Williams notched a second save on a header by Stills, then made a heads-up play by throwing the ball all the way across the mini field and into the opposite goal. Wait, you can do that!?

"I'm the goalie, I can do that!" Williams shouted.

Turns out, he's right. I guess he knows soccer's rules better than me.

But just when Williams looked like the hero, he turned into the goat (and I'm not talking about the greatest of all-time).

Williams came out of the net to thwart a Mathieu breakaway, but when he tried to punt the ball away, the crafty Cardinals safety jumped in front. By sheer luck, the deflection rolled into the goal as Williams desperately gave chase.

Tied at 1-1, the game went to sudden death. That's when, after a scrum near midfield, Diggs trickled a shot past Stills, who was by far the worst player on the field. Too Legit To Quit piled on top of the 6-foot-0, 191-pound wideout from Maryland.

"I've got to lay on him softly, he's small," Williams said.
