The Caw: Justin Forsett Is Taking His ShowerPill on 'Shark Tank'

Posted Jan 23, 2018

Former Ravens running back Justin Forsett will be on ABC's hit program this Sunday in hopes of getting financial support for his invention.

Former Ravens running back Justin Forsett was in plenty of high-pressure situations over his nine-year career.

Going on ABC’s “Shark Tank,” however, is a different beast.

Forsett and his co-founders and former teammates at UC-Berkeley, Wendell Hunter and Wale Forrester, will appear at 9 p.m. this Sunday as they pitch their sanitary wipe, the ShowerPill.

“I’ve been on TV before, but not that kind of TV,” said Forsett, who couldn’t reveal the result of the show because of confidentiality agreements (you’ll have to watch).

ShowerPill was born inside the California locker room when the teammates were looking for a quick post-practice or workout cleaning, but didn’t have the time or access to a shower.

It’s an extra-thick, disposable wipe that works like a washcloth to clean then entire body. The FDA-approved formulation is proven to kill 99.9 percent of germs (as well as remove sweat, dirt and body odor).

“Once you get in front of the cameras, the lights, and of course the sharks, it’s a real adrenaline rush,” Forsett said. “We are just so grateful for the opportunity to showcase our brand and product – which we’ve put our blood, sweat and tears into – on such a tremendous stage.”

Forsett markets the product to a wide range of customers, and exposure on the show, which has between 5 and 7 million viewers, is a benefit regardless of whether he strikes a deal with the sharks.

“It’s been a lot of educating because we’re in a new product category,” he said. “It’s been really taking off, whether it’s the everyday athlete, the yoga or Pilates instructor, the weekend warrior, the soccer mom, you name it.”

I can personally vouch for the ShowerPill’s effectiveness at music festivals, where shower access is scant and the need for a personal hygiene solution is at a premium.

ShowerPill can be purchased on ShowerPill.com, Amazon, at Crunch Fitness signature locations, Pharmaca and select UFC Gyms (with more retail locations coming soon).

In typical Forsett fashion, he also uses his company to do good in the world. The company continues to give back through its #Shower2ThePeople platform, most recently donating 20,000 body wipes to Puerto Ricans without access to clean bathing water following Hurricane Maria.
