The Caw: One Raven And 13 Other NFL Players Will Intern At Under Armour

Posted Feb 17, 2017

The fourth annual NFLPA Externship kicked off this week with 41 players at distinguished organizations around the country, including several in the Maryland area. Ravens cornerback Jumal Rolle will be working at nearby Under Armour.

The NFLPA’s annual “Externship” program kicked off Monday with 41 players from around the league working at 15 organizations.

And it’s clear from looking at the list that Baltimore-based Under Armour is a popular destination.

Of the 41 players, 14 are stationed at Under Armour, including Ravens cornerback Jumal Rolle.

While the full list of players is extensive, here’s the group that will be at Under Armour as part of the three-week program:

  • DE Kenny Anunike, New York Jets
  • K Andrew Franks, Miami Dolphins
  • WR Andrew Hawkins, Cleveland Browns
  • ILB Edwin Jackson, Indianapolis Colts
  • LB Eric Lee, Houston Texans
  • TE Chris Manhertz, Carolina Panthers
  • G Antoine McClain, free agent
  • OT Brian Mihalik, Pittsburgh Steelers
  • RB Romar Morris, New York Jets
  • LB Shakeel Rashad, Houston Texans
  • CB Jumal Rolle, Baltimore Ravens
  • OT Pearce Slater, Carolina Panthers
  • OLB Aaron Wallace, Tennessee Titans
  • DE Bjoern Werner, free agent

Joining Under Armour among the local organizations hosting players are Capitol Hill, CSN Mid-Atlantic & ESPN 980, Events DC, NFLPA and the University of Maryland athletic department.

The program, run by the NFLPA Player Affairs department, is designed to assist players in realizing their potential and value beyond football. Players will have a chance to spend time getting insight into possible future industries, working on real-world projects and offering feedback. It’s also a great way for players to begin networking.

Rolle, who is a restricted free agent, has spent the past two years with Baltimore after being signed to the team’s practice squad late during the 2015 season. He also spent time with the Green Bay Packers and Houston Texans. In 2014 with the Texans, he played in 10 games and made 19 tackles and three interceptions. He has played in one game for the Ravens.
