What The Giants Said After Beating Ravens

17_WhatGiantsSaid_news.jpg

(On what was said after the late pass interference call)
"Don't look at the scoreboard. Just rally around and play the play."

(On the offense getting in sync)
"Once we settled into the game, we started playing with good tempo and energy. Runs are tough to find; they're tough against the run like a lot of teams are in this league. We have to find a way to run it better. I thought we found some rhythm in the passing game. We have to eliminate the turnovers, that's a big thing moving forward. You can't afford to turn the ball over like that."

(On the talent of Odell Beckham Jr.)
"I think it was on full display this afternoon. He's a very talented young man. He pushed through some tough times and injuries today and made us a better football team. He's a great energy source for this team."

(On the offensive breakout)
"What did we score, 27 points? It's tough to score 27 points against that defense. It's a good defense. They had some injuries, they were nicked up a little bit, but so were we. You have to push through those. Twenty-seven points is our target each week."

QB Eli Manning

(On how fun it is to watch Beckham)
"Yeah, that was fun. That's what we expect him to do. We got some looks that we wanted. We were able to get to a couple plays that we've kind of had on the shelf for a few weeks, we just never quite got the looks that we wanted to get to them. Today, we got some of those and converted on them. It was good to see him make some big-time plays in crucial moments. There's nothing better than just catching a slant and going whatever it was – 60 or 70 yards for a touchdown to get the game-winning play."

(On the first long touchdown to Beckham)
"Just a move off a play that we run a pretty good bit, so finally got a look that we could get to it. Tried to move the safety left a little bit, came back to him; he had good patience, kind of waited for my eyes, kind of lulled the corner to sleep and then a little whirly-bird out of it. It hit him in stride, and make the corner miss and go score the touchdown; so a big play in that moment."

(On how long they've been waiting to run that)"It's just kind of one of those [plays] that we've had on the shelf for three or four weeks and just haven't gotten the look that we wanted to get to that, and we finally got it today."

WR Odell Beckham Jr.

(On his game-winning touchdown)
"I caught the slant and didn't know how close the defender was. First of all, Eli changed the play. He had a play on and saw some different coverages that you can't mess with. He changed the play and put me in a perfect position to run a slant. I catch it and see one safety angling to the right. I know that for someone to be able to open their hips and run at the same time to run me down, they're going to be very fast. I went left and it all worked out."

(On the severity of his hip pointer injury)"Whatever it is, it was bad. It was bothering me all game. Even on the last drive, I told Roger Lewis, get your mind right because you're going to score the game-winning touchdown. I sat there and just prayed. I prayed for strength. He placed his hand of anointment on me and He did. I was able to go out there, get enough adrenaline to make a play and put us in position. I'm very thankful that the penalty on that didn't cost us in the end.

(On his kicking net celebration)
"Well, our relationship is growing. I thought we might as well make it serious. I proposed and she said yes. Me and the net are going to get married sometime soon. Hopefully it all works out. I'm 23, so I don't know much about marriage. She seems like a pretty nice gal."

LB Jonathan Casillas

(On the fourth-and-goal stop)
"Yeah, it was an outside toss play and they have a good fullback, the fullback cut me and I did a good job of using my hands and protecting my legs and it was one-on-one with me and the back and I made a pretty good play."

CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie

(On the pass interference call)
"No. See when I'm running with him, he's battling for me to get into position. I'm fighting with him and he's looking at the ball. That's legal. You can do that. That's what I always was told. That's what I know. I'm not sure what he got off that. He said he got it in the beginning. That should've been a hold or something, definitely not a pass interference."

(On brushing off the penalty)
"It can't get to me. I know one thing at cornerback that if you lose your mind, it's going to be a long day for you."

S Landon Collins

(On the Rodgers-Cromartie pass interference call)

"The referee made the call that he saw. As a defensive player, we all know that you see other things and you see a different way. But the refs made the call and we have to live with it."

(On the confidence of the Ravens receivers)

"We were just trying to create a force and make tackles to make sure they (felt our pressure), make them not catch any balls. They caught a few but we were trying to make sure they didn't get any."

(On the goal-line stand)

"That's what we're built for. That's the defense we made."
