While Young is 5-foot-9, Canady has prototypical size for what the Ravens want in their outside cornerbacks and can also contribute on special teams as a return man. Canady returned punts throughout his career, and he took one back for a 74-yard touchdown last season.
The Ravens got a good luck at Canady during the week of practice at the Senior Bowl in January, and they have a history of selecting players who they scout during that time in Mobile, Ala.
“He’s a guy that really showed up at the Senior Bowl,” General Manager Ozzie Newsome said.
Canady did not have any interceptions last year, but he did come up with three picks in his junior year and five over his college career. He played in 11 games as a true freshman and made two interceptions.
