Harbaugh Brothers Haven't Talked Yet

The lines of communication between John and Jim Harbaugh already appear to be cut off ahead of Super Bowl XLVII.

There has been radio silence between two sides after of the Sunday's conference title games.

"We actually haven't talked yet," John said during his Monday press conference. "We've both been pretty swamped, just in the planning."

The two did exchange a few text messages, Jim said.

While he didn't talk with his brother, John was able to talk with his parents, Jack and Jackie, after winning the AFC championship.

"That was a great conversation," John said. "Just thanks to my mom and dad, and [sister] Joani. Just couldn't be more thankful. Couldn't have been brought up in a better situation, couldn't of had more fun, and they're having fun right now. I can't wait to see them down in New Orleans. It will be a great time."

Both John and Jim downplayed the significance of their Super Bowl meeting and emphasized (with almost identical responses) that the attention should be placed on the players.

"It's about the players," John said. "It's the guys out there on the field who are actually in the arena, whose face is marred with dust and sweat and blood. Remember that one? That's what it's about. It's about those guys. The more we focus on those guys, the better it is for everybody."

"The fighters are first, the ones that are playing in the game," Jim added. "They are the ones that we should be talking about."
