You Can Still Help Feed The Flock

The Ravens November Food Collection and #FeedtheFlock promotion continues this week and won't end until the team's goal is reached. In celebration of the Ravens' 20th season and 20 years of supporting the Maryland Food Bank (MFB), the team hopes to collect at least 20,000 pounds of food.

Bags and boxes of food continue to pile up at the Under Amour Performance Center as the internal competition between players and staff forges on. After a strong showing from the Ravens staff, wide receiver Steve Smith Sr., with crutches in tow, dropped off four large boxes of non-perishable items to give the players a temporary lead last week. The MFB will be on hand this Friday, Nov. 13, to weigh the food and determine a winner.

Fans can still donate at more than 50 Baltimore-area Giant Food stores from now until Monday, Nov. 16. That day, defensive end Brandon Williams will join the Ravens and MFB staff at the Giant Food store in Clarksville, MD for a final collection rally.

Giant Food, the official supermarket and pharmacy of the Ravens, and proud title sponsor of Purple, will have pre-packaged boxes for only $10. These boxes will include the MFB's most-needed food items.

Williams will be on hand to personally thank those who make a donation and encourage fans to join him in the fight against hunger. "Anything helps for those people hurting worse than we are," Williams said. "A can, two cans, a few dollars, just anything you can give."

A big "thank you" goes out to Ravens fans who donated to the 20th Annual Family Food & Funds Drive on Nov. 1 when the team took on the San Diego Chargers. Von Paris Moving collected, boxed and delivered the food donated by fans at the gates prior to the game. While monetary donations from the game are still being calculated, more than 4,100 pounds of actual food was collected, weighing in more than in recent years.

If fans were not able to donate at the Ravens vs. Chargers game or at a Baltimore-area Giant Food store location and would still like to help, the Ravens have created an online drive through YouGiveGoods. Please visit yougivegoods.com/feedtheflock to make your donation.

Final numbers for the Ravens November Food Collection will be announced at the conclusion of the drive on Nov. 16. Until then, fans are asked to join the Ravens, make a donation and help #FeedtheFlock!
