The Ravens have ruled out tight end Isaiah Likely (foot) and fullback Patrick Ricard (calf) ahead of Sunday's home opener against the Cleveland Browns.
Ricard (calf) hasn't practiced since Aug. 14 and Likely will also miss his second straight game after suffering a broken foot early in training camp.
However, Likely does appear closer to returning after practicing Friday and going through an extensive workout with Tight Ends Coach George Godsey.
Likely did a series of reps on the blocking sled, ran routes, and did individual drills with Godsey as the Ravens went through special teams work on an adjacent field. It was the most extended workout that Likely has participated in during the practice segment that is open to the media.
"I'm encouraged by the progress," Head Coach John Harbaugh said. "I talked to him today. You saw [him] during practice out there, and he is in a good place. So, I'm encouraged."
Likely was not placed on injured reserve prior to the season, which would have forced him to miss at least four games. As part of the 53-man roster, he is eligible to play Week 3 against the Detroit Lions or Week 4 against the Kansas City Chiefs. His workout on Friday was another positive sign as the Ravens anticipate his return to game action.
Wide receiver Rashod Bateman (personal, non-injury related) did not practice Friday but will play. Defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike (ankle) and cornerback Jaire Alexander (knee) were full participants and carry no injury designation. Madubuike hasn't missed a game over the past three seasons.
Browns RB Quinshon Judkins Listed As Questionable
Browns rookie running back Quinshon Judkins is questionable for Sunday's game after missing all of training camp and Week 1 due to his domestic battery case. Judkins was a full participant in practice on Thursday and Friday after missing practice on Wednesday when he was in New York meeting with league officials.
The legal case against Judkins from earlier this summer was dropped, but the NFL is still looking into the matter. Judkins, who was the 36th-overall pick in this year's draft out of Ohio State, told reporters Friday that he's glad to be back with the team and focusing on football.
Browns starting tackle Jack Conklin (eye, elbow) practiced on a limited basis throughout the week and is questionable. Pro Bowl cornerback Denzel Ward (shoulder, Achilles) returned to full practice Friday and will play.
Cleveland ruled out defensive tackle Michael Hall (knee).
