The Houston Texans have reached a two-year agreement with linebacker/special teams ace Jake Hummel, according to The Athletic's Dianna Russini.
Hummel spent last season with the Ravens as a special teams mainstay and saw limited action in the linebacker rotation. He appeared in all 17 games, playing 372 snaps on special teams and 33 snaps on defense.
Almost all his defensive action occurred in Week 4 against the Kansas City Chiefs, when Hummel played 28 snaps after Roquan Smith left the game with a hamstring injury.
Hummel's biggest play of the 2025 season occurred Week 2 against the Cleveland Browns, when his blocked punt set up a Ravens touchdown during a 41-17 victory. The 27-year-old Hummel spent his first three seasons with the Los Angeles Rams and has 49 tackles and two blocked punts during his career.
