President's Award Winner:  Jefferson Mitten

“I’ve got a guy that I want to nominate. His name is Jefferson Mitten, he’s part of our gameday/part-time crew and has been with us since the beginning of last season. Jefferson is just an absolute hustler, does everything you ask him to do, knows where to be, always ready for what’s next.

Saturday, we kind of passed the torch to Jefferson for both in-game home sideline duty as well as being the person who drives the medical gator out to pick up an injured player. Sideline duty can be tough, you never know when something isn’t going to work right, or you are dealing with the constant needs of several people all at the same time (players, trainers, and equipment). He handled it very well and even had to go pick up an Eagles player on the field and took care of it with no problem.

He’s just a great hard-working guy who also works full-time for the Baltimore County Fire Department and then comes in to help us on his days off."

In training, we talk about our four quality standards – Safety, Courtesy, Presentation, and Efficiency- and just how important each element is to a successful gameday. The nominee for the Presidents Award from our Eagles Preseasons game embodies all four of these things as he works with our Ravens Grounds Department on gameday. Jefferson Mitten, who also works full time with Baltimore County Fire Department, was tasked with new role this season that is a very important part of our gameday. Our grounds team not only makes sure that our field is ready for gameday, but they assist with sideline duties during the game. Jefferson did such a great job and stepped up to the plate that his leader, Sean Kaufmann wanted to recognize him for all that he did. See Sean's comments below:
