Press Conference Transcript - Sept. 25

On if a divisional game is more important than others:"Yeah, if you look at it from the perspective of games, what they count for. You'd say divisional, conference, NFC. You probably go in that order, because you've got tie-breaker implications in that order, basically division and conference. They count for a little more than one because of the tie-breaker issue. This is a huge game for us."

On if T Jared Gaither is feeling better from his sickness and is out of quarantine:"Yeah, that was the biggest problem. He wasn't feeling too well, but the main thing was we didn't want to get sick. We've had a little bit of that. Some stuff's been going around, so guys have been dealing with it."

On if this round of sickness is lingering from what was going around in the preseason:"You're talking to the wrong guy. (laughing) I have no idea. It's something. Bill T [Tessendorf, head certified athletic trainer] has a lot of big names for that stuff. We just call it 'sick.' They're sick."

On if OLB Jarret Johnson is over his shoulder flu:"The 'shoulder flu?' He got out today and moved around a little bit. That's going to be an issue whether he can take people on or not. I think he's going to be OK, but we'll just have to see how he feels. We didn't want to mess with it in the two contact practices, but he got a good practice in today."

On CB Fabian Washington feeling better:"Fabian looked good. We'll see. I think he'll be all right."

On how to eliminate big plays and yards after the catch:"It's never one thing. It's always playing better defense together as a group. The defensive line will tell you it's the defensive line, it's pressure. Whenever we get blitz packages, they'll tell you it's pressure in the blitz packages. The coaches will tell you it's coaching. Greg [Mattison] will tell you it's calling the right thing at the right time. The secondary will tell you it's playing together a little bit better in some situations. Guys who want to win matchups will tell you it's making that play. It's all those things. Each play has a little bit different twist on it, so we've just got to make sure we get better at all those things, and hopefully it will show up in the way we play."

On what he tells his players when they're going from playing an elite team to one that's struggling:"That's a good question. I think every week you take it separately and individually for what you have in front of you. The Browns are capable of being an elite team. They haven't been able to put it together yet. You listen to those guys talk, that's what they're telling you. But, I think they have every intention of putting it together on Sunday. It's our job to make sure that doesn't happen, just like it's their job to make sure that they play as well as they can play. We know that we're going to get the very best Browns on Sunday. That's what we expect, that's what we anticipate. We've got to make sure they get the very best Ravens. That's really all you can do. I think our guys believe that and understand that. We'll have to prove it on Sunday."
