Ravens In Our Community

Ravens and Habitat For Humanity Join For Build Day

On Tuesday (9/24), the Baltimore Ravens will once again join Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake for a build day at the construction site of 18 new rowhomes, including three which are being funded by the Ravens All Community Team Foundation. This will mark the third time that the Ravens have lent a helping hand for this project, in an effort to further improve the community surrounding M&T Bank Stadium.

The on-site build will take place in the 1200 block of Ward Street in Washington Village (affectionately known as "Pigtown"), located on the west side of Russell Street near M&T Bank Stadium. Pigtown is an area in need of assistance, with approximately one-third of its residents living below the poverty line and with nearly one in eight homes abandoned or in need of significant repair.

"This neighborhood, which surrounds the M&T Bank Stadium area, is important to both Habitat for Humanity and the Ravens," team president Dick Cass stated. "We are honored to be a part of this building project and hope that our involvement will lead to joint future endeavors. We are delighted to partner with Habitat for Humanity on this venture."

On-site parking near the construction area will also be available for media attending the event.
