Ravens Kick Off 2015 Play 60 Challenge Assemblies

On Monday (10/5), the Baltimore Ravens and Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association will kick off the PLAY 60 Challenge as part of the national NFL PLAY 60 campaign. The program is designed to encourage children to be active for at least 60 minutes per day in order to help reverse the trend of childhood obesity.

By implementing the 2015 PLAY 60 Challenge, the Ravens encourage local students to be physically active for at least 60 minutes every day through an incentive-based system. During the four-week program, in-classroom tracking materials and individual student guides will be distributed to help students record their physical activity. By reaching specified benchmarks, students will be awarded prizes such as water bottles, footballs and other Ravens items. One lucky student will also be invited to the Ravens vs. Seahawks game (12/13) and take part in a special pre-game ceremony. In addition, top performers from participating schools will attend a prize luncheon held at M&T Bank Stadium in the spring of 2016. On Monday (10/5), the Ravens will host a *PLAY 60 Challenge *kickoff assembly at Lyons Mill Elementary (Owings Mills, Md).

For the sixth-consecutive year, the Ravens will partner with the Carroll County school district to execute the PLAY 60 Challenge through the Project ACES (Active Children Excel in School) program, and on Monday (10/5), will host an event with the students of Runnymede Elementary (Westminster, Md.). Project ACES, a program whose mission and goals align directly with the NFL PLAY 60 campaign, has been promoted by Carroll County Public Schools and The Partnership for a Healthier Carroll County since its inception in 1996. By combining forces, the *PLAY 60 Challenge/Project ACES *program will reach 26 elementary schools throughout Carroll County and impact over 12,000 students.
