Ravens Make Several Coaching Moves

John Harbaugh has filled out the rest of his coaching staff.

Chris Hewitt, previously the assistant secondary coach, has been promoted to defensive backs coach to replace Steve Spagnuolo, who left to become the defensive coordinator of the New York Giants. Hewitt has spent the last three seasons in Baltimore, working on special teams and in the secondary.

He'll be joined in the secondary by Matt Weiss, who has been moved to cornerbacks coach. Weiss has spent the last six years with the Ravens, and he was a defensive quality control and linebackers assistant coach last season.

Offensively, the Ravens promoted Richard Angulo to tight ends coach and hired Andy Bischoff as offensive quality control coach. Angulo was an offensive coaching intern last season for the Ravens, and he will fill the role that became available when Brian Pariani followed Gary Kubiak to Denver.

Bischoff comes to Baltimore after spending the last several years working under new Ravens Offensive Coordinator Marc Trestman. Bischoff was the tight ends coach in Chicago, and he previously coached under Trestman with the Montreal Alouttes in the Canadian Football League. For the Alouttes, Bischoff worked as the running backs coach, tight ends coach and special teams coordinator.

Drew Wilkins and Mike Macdonald have both been named defensive assistants in another change to the coaching staff. Wilkins was a coaching staff assistant last season after originally working in Baltimore's football video department, and Macdonald was a defensive coaching intern last year.
