An interview with Khalil Garriott.

Q: I hear that you're a big video game buff. How would you rate your skills?

A: I'm very good at video games, except for Madden. I don't get it. I'm not very good at Madden, but everything else I can pretty much master in a day or two.

Q: What would you say is one example of how competitive you are off the field?

A: I play in a semi-pro men's basketball league, and I act like a real coach. I act like John Thompson. I cut the guys up and if they're not playing right, I bench them, fine them, all of that.

Q: Is this in Baltimore?

A: No, in Phoenix.

Q: So you're a coach?

A: Yeah, I'm a coach. Player-coach. Kind of like Jordan.

Q: What's the most awestruck you've ever been in the NFL?

A: I played against John Randle in my rookie year, and I was just really star-struck. I was a Minnesota Vikings fan growing up, and he, Lawrence Taylor and Chris Doleman have been my favorite players of all-time. I got to meet L.T. at the Pro Bowl the next year. Playing against John Randle was overwhelming to me.

Q: Who is the best trash-talker in the NFL that you've heard, and why?

A: Hands down, Chad Johnson. That man will talk some trash. And, he's a good person off the field—I can joke with him—but he can get into your head.

Q: What do you want to be most remembered for as an NFL player?

A: I don't know. I haven't thought about that. I definitely think the business aspect of it. How I was a good player, but I was also [doing] business after football. I think the things that I do after football are what I want to be most known for. Just my life in general, and how I played football and then took the business aspect of it to the next level.

Q: What aspects of the business world interest you the most?

A: I don't know. I haven't thought about it yet. I'm doing some little investments in condos. You can't go wrong with real estate. I'm also trying to get a movie production company. I'm just trying to get my hands on everything.

Q: If you make a movie about your life story, who's starring and who is the lead actress?

A: For the leading actress, I'd have to go right now with Paula Patton. She's a very good actress. As for who's starring me? The Rock. I'll go with The Rock.
