Matchups to Watch: Ravens vs. Bills
Here are the 1-on-1 matchups that will define the regular-season opener.

S Malaki Starks vs. QB Josh Allen
Allen has one of the strongest arms in the league and it wouldn't be surprising to see him test it out on Starks in his first game. The first-round rookie made a jaw-dropping interception in his first game in college. Will he get a chance in his first pro game?

LB Roquan Smith vs. RB James Cook
The key for the Bills is staying in manageable third-down situations so Allen is a threat to run. Cook is the primary way Buffalo does that, both as a runner and receiver. The Ravens had some difficulties slowing down the Bills' rushing attack in their playoff loss, and Smith will be looking to change that this time around.

CB Marlon Humphrey vs. WR Khalil Shakir
Shakir led the Bills in targets, receptions, and yards last season. He also took 67.8% of his snaps from the slot. Humphrey is expected to be the Ravens' top nickel cornerback. If Humphrey can crack down on Shakir, it's going to take away Allen's go-to guy.

OLB Odafe Oweh vs. LT Dion Dawkins
Dawkins is one of the best offensive tackles in the league with four straight Pro Bowl appearances. With his sights set on a big fifth season, Oweh has a chance to make a Week 1 statement. Oweh bulked up this offseason to better help him finish at the top of his rush, and that's the challenge against the physical Dawkins.

WR Zay Flowers vs. CB Christian Benford
Benford is the Bills' top cover guy and the sixth-highest graded cornerback in the league last year, via Pro Football Focus. He also plays both sides about equally, so it wouldn't be surprising to see him match up frequently against Flowers. Flowers missed last year's playoff game, so he'll be itching to show how much that mattered.
