Madden 19 Ratings Are Out. Here Are 10 Takeaways

Suggs EA

For all you gamers out there, the Madden 19 ratings were officially posted by EA Sports.

Here are 10 takeaways from the full list, which can be seen here:

1. Guard Marshal Yanda is the Ravens' highest-rated player once again with a 92 overall. It's a drop from last year's rating of 96 after Yanda missed most of last season because of a fractured ankle. The highest-rated offensive lineman is Green Bay Packers left tackle David Bakhtiari (97). There are surprisingly eight offensive linemen ahead of Yanda, including three right guards: Dallas Cowboys' Zack Martin (96), Pittsburgh Steelers' David DeCastro (95) and Philadelphia Eagles' Brandon Brooks (93).

2. The Ravens' second-highest rated players are cornerback Jimmy Smith (89) and defensive tackle Brandon Williams (89). Third-year defensive tackle Michael Pierce should be happy, as he's the Ravens' fourth-highest rated player at 87 overall, which puts him just above veteran outside linebacker Terrell Suggs (86).

3. Justin Tucker is the top kicker in the game with an 86-overall rating. He's just above the Atlanta Falcons' Matt Bryant and San Francisco 49ers' Robbie Gould (85). Tucker is nearly perfect in kick power and accuracy at 98 for each. Madden also apparently likes Tucker's ability to catch the ball, giving him a 68 in spectacular catch rating.

4. There are 24 quarterbacks rated higher than Joe Flacco, who got a 79 overall. Flacco's throwing power of 97 is tied for second-best behind the Detroit Lions' Matthew Stafford (98).

5. First-round quarterback Lamar Jackson has the same overall rating as Flacco at 79 and is the second highest-rated rookie quarterback in the game, trailing Cleveland Browns No. 1-overall pick Baker Mayfield (81).

6. Jackson is the game's fastest quarterback with a 91 speed, and he also has a 95 agility rating, 89 juke move and 85 elusiveness. Jackson got better ratings than Michael Vick did as a rookie (72 overall with 89 speed). It seems the makers at EA took Jackson's advice, and made him an extremely fun quarterback to play with in the game.

7. One of the bigger surprises may be the low overall rating (84) for inside linebacker C.J. Mosley, who has gone to three Pro Bowls in four seasons. There are seven inside linebackers rated higher. Mosley, who is viewed as one of the Ravens' top players, have seven teammates ahead of him and is tied with wide receiver Michael Crabtree, safety Tony Jefferson and punter Sam Koch in overall rating.

8. Another player whose rating seems too low is left tackle Ronnie Stanley, who has been a very solid blocker during his first two years. Stanley's 79 overall grade is tied for 15th-best among left tackles and is only three points higher than Ravens rookie Orlando Brown Jr. Defensive tackle Willie Henry and cornerback Tavon Young, who were fourth-round picks in Stanley's draft class, were also both given 79 overall ratings.

9. Running back Alex Collins exploded onto the scene last year to rush for nearly 1,000 yards and post the league's ninth-best yards per carry average (4.6). However, Madden has 35 running backs rated higher, showing Collins is still flying under the radar.

10. Crabtree's 84 rating makes him tied for 30th among wide receivers. John "Smokey" Brown registered a 79-overall rating with a speed of 93. Fellow wide receiver Breshad Perriman still has the highest speed rating of any Raven at 95. Rookie cornerback Anthony Averett is second at 94 and Brown is third.
