Ravens Suffer Another Injury to Defensive Starter

The Ravens are already short-handed on defense and they lost another starter against the Los Angeles Rams.

Outside linebacker Tavius Robinson suffered a broken foot in Baltimore's 17-3 loss, Head Coach John Harbaugh announced after the game.

"It's a bad one," Harbaugh said.

Robinson has been the Ravens' defensive "Iron Man." He played in 40 straight games to begin his career and never even missed a practice in three years. That durability and his physicality have made him a highly respected player among coaches and teammates.

This summer, Pass Rush Coach Chuck Smith said Robinson is a "centerpiece" of the Ravens' defensive front, which is also without defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike (neck) for the rest of the year.

Entering Sunday's game, Robinson had 17 tackles and two sacks (tied for the team lead). He's their physical edge-setting outside linebacker and was in an even more important position after the Ravens traded Odafe Oweh to the Los Angeles Chargers this week.

Baltimore is now down to Kyle Van Noy, rookie Mike Green, and David Ojabo at outside linebacker and will presumably need to add someone during the bye.

Left tackle Ronnie Stanley (ankle) also exited in the first half after starting the game and was replaced by Joe Notebook. Twice in the past three weeks, Stanley has been forced to exit the game early.
