Ravens safety Tony Jefferson left Sunday's game with an ankle injury that occurred in the second quarter.
Jefferson was hurt attempting to make a tackle on a run by Oakland Raiders running back Doug Martin. A Raiders offensive lineman rolled up on the back of Jackson's leg.
After being attended to on the field, Jefferson returned to the game briefly, but he could not return in the second half after his ankle was re-taped.
Second-year safety Chuck Clark took over in the second half for Jefferson, although the Ravens sometimes went with Eric Weddle as their lone safety.
Jefferson has been a mainstay in the secondary since signing with the Ravens in 2017. He has made 27 straight starts for the Ravens, and he has only missed one game in his six-year NFL career. Jefferson entered Sunday's game second on the team in tackles with 60.
"Hopefully T. J. will heal up quick, but if not, Chuck practices well," Raven safety Eric Weddle said. "He has been playing well and he knows the defense, so we're extremely confident for him to come in there and do the job needed to be successful."
