What the Bears Said After Falling to Ravens

Head Coach Ben Johnson

Opening statement: "In terms of the game, [I] give Baltimore a lot of credit. They came out, and they played a physical brand of football, just like you would expect. They were hungry. They were determined, and truth be told, I expected a little bit more out of our squad to counter that on up."

On if the Ravens and Tyler Huntley did anything they weren't expecting: "I thought [offensive coordinator] Coach [Todd] Monken always does a great job schematically mixing things up. Like I said before, they play a physical brand of football. That showed up. That offensive line was getting after it. I thought our defensive line, it was quite a battle there throughout the game. We were intent on not letting [Derrick Henry] get started. For the most part, we did a pretty good job of that, but then Huntley hurt us with both his arm and his legs. We let him get some big ones on the ground, and then he threw some accurate balls there in the air."

On his reaction to the change of Lamar Jackson's injury status: "Like I said earlier in the week, we were preparing for Lamar [Jackson]. Then, when we found out that he wasn't playing, then we get ready for the next guy."

On his interception to Nate Wiggins: "[Nate Wiggins] undercut the route, and I could have led him farther out in front, instead of trying to give him a shot right [in his arms]. He made a great break on the play. It's just unfortunate where we were on the field and the situation."

WR Rome Odunze

On if they sensed urgency from the Ravens: "I mean, yeah, they came out; they knew what their record was. They knew what their goals were and came out ready to play. Give them all the credit. They came out [and] executed the gameplan and got the 'dub.'"

S Kevin Byard III

On Huntley's play: "[Tyler Huntley] obviously executed [and] played a helluva game. We just didn't do enough to affect the quarterback. Obviously, I think he was like 15-for-20 and threw a touchdown. We didn't stop the run at all today. They ran for like 180 [yards] or something. We knew what type of game it was going to be. We just didn't execute the way we needed to."

On the challenge of playing Henry, especially in the red zone: "He's a big-time player. Obviously, he's been making big plays in this league for a long time. We've got to do a better job figuring out a way, even if they get down [in the red zone], figuring out a way to force them to a field goal."
