Head Coach Aaron Glenn
Opening statement: "[That was a] tough loss today. To me, I feel bad for the players. I just told them how much I love them and how much effort they gave was outstanding. To not get a victory when I think those guys really played the first half exactly how we wanted to. When it comes to taking the ball, that first drive, we should have scored on that. Then we come back, stop them on defense, and then we get a score. We come out of the half [up] 7-3. I thought our guys played exactly how we want to. We knew the second half that [the Ravens] were going to have a surge, and those guys did. We as a coaching staff, we have to help them. Also, we have got to make plays when there is time to make plays. I believe in these guys. I believe in this team."
On why he was upset at the substitution procedure on Ravens' RB Derrick Henry's first touchdown: "There were a number of calls that I questioned. The one thing that we are not going to do is we are not going to make excuses. It happens in this league. I just thought when they subbed, that you have to give us time to sub. Our guys were running on the field, and we didn't have time to sub. It is what it is."
On RB Breece Hall's fumble: "I love that player. [Breece Hall]'s a damn good player for us. He's going to fight for every yard. We all know once you're fighting for every yard, we have to be able to protect the ball. [Marlon Humphrey] did a really good job of going after it and getting it. We had [Hall] going, trying to get him the ball as much as we could, as you saw. That was one of those times where they made a good play, and they took it out. That was a good play by them."
On QB Tyrod Taylor's performance: "I thought he played well. I don't know what the passing yards are. I know there were over 200-some yards. We've got to be able to mix the run game and the pass game together to get exactly what we want. I just think from watching it, I thought he did a really good job.
CB Brandon Stephens
On how they confused Lamar Jackson: "Yes, I think we just had a great game plan as far as limiting him in the run game and in explosives. I think, up front, they did a good job with that."
On if they noticed any injuries with Jackson: "No, I didn't see that. I didn't see him acting as if he was hurt. I think we just had a great game plan as far as keeping him in the pocket and limiting his running ability."
DL Jowon Briggs
On how they limited the Ravens run game: "It was all about eliminating '8' and '22.' So, really, you just go after those guys and attack the line of scrimmage. We want to get negative plays, no net-gain plays, make him check his feet, and we were doing a really good job of that."
On if QB Jackson looked slower than usual: "He looked like the same old Lamar. Trust me, I saw him on the injury report, but from the Browns last year, we played him twice, and I've seen him do some crazy [expletive], you know? So, that's the bar. You've got to give him his props, no matter what, when you play him. We didn't really pay too much attention to that injury. But, yes, you see him on there, you pay attention."
RB Breece Hall
On what happened on the fumble: "I was running the ball, trying to rip through and got turned, and as I got turned, my momentum was going away from me, and I started pulling the ball. So, just [have] to be better with ball security. That one stung, but we still got to play the next play."
QB Tyrod Taylor
On the thought process on the fourth-and-2 attempt in the third quarter: "[I'm] definitely disappointed that it didn't work out. It was a concept that we liked. We just didn't execute it. They did a great job of keeping Kyle [Hamilton] and Roquan [Smith] in there to take away the outside routes, so I went outside to 'Metch' [John Metchie]. Unfortunately, we just didn't execute, and that was a key point in the game."
On what he saw on the touchdown throw: "It was cover 0. We actually talked about it on the sideline. The safety and corner were communicating; we had a high-low concept, [which was] something that we talked about all week about just beating a particular route and if we had seen this look, and it happened right there for us. So we did a great job of being patient, but at the same time, giving eyes, being friendly and going to make a play after the catch."
On if it stings more because you had a halftime lead and it was right there: "It definitely stings. I hate losing. This locker room hates losing. When you're so close, you're right [in that] it definitely stings. We missed opportunities, and there's only one winner at the end of the day. Hats off to [the Ravens], they battled their tails off."
