What the Rams Said After Defeating the Ravens

Head Coach Sean McVay

On whether the defensive goal-line stand at the end of the first half provided momentum for the second half: "I thought it was huge. I thought the momentum that the guys established based on being able to make that play was huge. To be able to go into the half at 3-3, just making them snap it one more time."

QB Matthew Stafford

On the game in general: "It was an interesting game. I thought our defense did a great job of just giving up three points. It was a huge momentum situation down there. They had great execution; I thought they really played great. We did just enough to win the game, and that is the name of the game, so we'll take it."

OLB Jared Verse

On if he grew up watching the Baltimore defense and what it meant for the defense to only go up three points: "Yeah, me and 'Des' [Desjuan] Johnson were talking about this on the way out. When I was a kid, Ray Lewis was the dude. The way he hawks after the ball. The way [that] anybody [who] comes across his face had to be punished. I'm watching him, and I'm like, 'That's crazy,' and [now] you get to step in the area he was able to dominate. I'm like, 'This is kind of like surreal.' I saw some bald dude, and I thought it was him."

On playing this well where Ray Lewis used to play: "It means a lot. I know we're obviously not the Ravens, we're the Rams. But, to be able to stack up the same kind of defense that they're able to have, you have to be punished no matter where you are. Whether you are on the one-yard line or –40, you're not getting in the end zone. We were able to keep them to three points, but that was just because of mistakes on our end."

WR Davante Adams

On what holding the Ravens to three points says about the Rams: "I mean, it says a lot. Obviously, they are a team that is battered and bruised right now, and you know they are missing their quarterback, but that's not something that we are going to apologize for. You can only eat what is in front of you, so I feel like we did a good job figuring out how to win the game."

S Quentin Lake

On coming into this building and holding them out of their own end zone and dominating the day: "It's huge. I think that fourth-down stop at the goal line at the end of the half was one of the plays of the game. Football is all about momentum, and when you have a huge momentum shift like that where they keep trying to get in, keep trying to get in, and we stop them, it's huge. You can just tell there was a big momentum shift right there. It might not have been loud, because we got it, but there was a momentum shift from that point on."
