Who Ravens Fans Should Root for in Week 1

RavensFansRootFor

The NFL season is here, which means the race for playoff berths has begun.

Ravens fans will have to wait to watch their squad play the Buffalo Bills on "Sunday Night Football."

In the meantime, there will be plenty of action across the league, and Baltimore can get a head start on the division and conference standings.

Here's a guide for who to root for in Week 1:

Kansas City Chiefs @ Los Angeles Chargers (in Brazil)

Friday, 8 p.m., YouTube

Coming off a Super Bowl loss, Patrick Mahomes will meet Justin Herbert in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in an AFC West matchup. Kansas City won both matchups against the Chargers last season and will look to start 1-0 in its quest for another deep playoff run. New Chargers running back Najee Harris will suit up after missing time in training camp with an eye injury. Los Angeles will be without left tackle Rashawn Slater, who is out for the season with a knee injury.

Cincinnati Bengals @ Cleveland Browns

Sunday, 1 p.m., FOX

Fans won't have to wait for an AFC North showdown. Led by Joe Burrow, the Bengals will look to win their first season opener since 2022. New Defensive Coordinator Al Golden will aim to take some pressure off Burrow after the Bengals' unit gave up 348.3 yards and 25.5 points per game last season. For the Browns, 40-year-old Joe Flacco will get the nod at quarterback in hopes of claiming the top spot in the division through Week 1.

Pittsburgh Steelers @ New York Jets

Sunday, 1 p.m., CBS

Aaron Rodgers makes his return to New York with the Steelers, in what he's hinted at will be the last Week 1 game of his career. Rodgers' top target, DK Metcalf, and cornerback Jalen Ramsey will also suit up in a Steelers uniform for the first time. Quarterback Justin Fields, who was with the Steelers last season, and new Head Coach Aaron Glenn will both look to start off on the right foot with the Jets, who haven't made the playoffs since 2010.
