15 Ravens Who Stood Out During Minicamp and OTAs
The Ravens concluded their four-week OTAs and minicamp program Wednesday. Here's who consistently shined throughout.

P Ryan Eckley: The Ravens' rookie punter showed off his leg strength during minicamp, launching multiple punts that traveled over 60 yards in the air. He also showed off his deep bag of punt styles, from boomerangs to pooch punts, including a couple that were downed inside the 5-yard line.

C Jovaughn Gwyn: Gwyn is in a competition with Danny Pinter to be the Ravens' next starting center and replace Tyler Linderbaum. Gwyn looks mobile, which is a good fit for the heavier outside zone running scheme being installed by Run Game Coordinator/Offensive Line Coach Dwayne Ledford, who Gwyn also played under with the Atlanta Falcons.

FS Jaylinn Hawkins: Hawkins has been an instant hit in the secondary since signing this offseason as a free agent. He broke up a lot of passes (including a deep shot to Zay Flowers during OTAs) and closely quickly on underneath throws. Hawkins plays with a swagger that fits well in Baltimore.

OLB Trey Hendrickson: Hendrickson dominated one OTAs practice that featured third-down situations. He also showed his run defense chops with a tackle for loss during minicamp. The Ravens' prized free-agent addition has impressed coaches with his leadership.

G Vega Ioane: Teammates don't see a rookie when they're playing next to Ioane. The first-round pick looks comfortable operating with the first-team offense despite a positional shift from left to right guard. Ioane's physicality caught inside linebacker Roquan Smith's attention, and it will ramp up when pads come on.

S Keondre Jackson: Jackson, who stood out in special teams drills, is stepping into a leadership role this season and looking to become an All-Pro special teamer. Jackson also made noise on defense during OTAs, nabbing an interception (and nearly two more) during one practice.

QB Lamar Jackson: While Jackson missed the first week of OTAs, he shined during the rest. Jackson loves Offensive Coordinator Declan Doyle's new scheme and looked confident running it. Jackson made several pinpoint throws during minicamp.

CB Robert Longerbeam: Coming back from a knee injury that ended his rookie season before it began, Longerbeam flashed during OTAs and minicamp with multiple pass breakups. He showed his quick twitch to knock away a pass on a comeback route during 7-on-7 drills Wednesday at minicamp.

C Danny Pinter: Pinter is the other half of the Ravens' center competition so far. The longtime Indianapolis Colts backup got the first crack at reps with the starting offense and Jackson. Pinter is a densely-built, 6-foot-4 blocker who showed he's nimble and can block in space.

WR Elijah Sarratt: Sarratt made arguably the best catch of minicamp with a leaping, contested grab along the right sideline on a pass from Jackson. Catches like that are what made Sarratt so productive for national champion Indiana and part of the reason why the Ravens drafted the big-bodied receiver in the fourth round.

G John Simpson: Simpson's return to Baltimore three years after he departed in free agency has been seamless. He brings energy to the unit and has quickly developed a connection with Ioane. Simpson will help establish Baltimore's tenor in the trenches.

S Malaki Starks: Starks was frequently around the ball during OTAs and minicamp, a good sign that he'll make more impact plays in his second season. He broke up a pass intended for tight end Mark Andrews in the end zone during 7-on-7 red-zone drills in minicamp

QB Skylar Thompson: The competition for the No. 3 quarterback job was one of the most intriguing entering offseason practices. Thompson, who is entering his fifth season and has three career starts, separated himself from the pack. Thompson made a pinpoint long throw to the sideline Wednesday that earned a dap from Jackson.

WR Dayton Wade: Several wide receivers flashed during practices, in addition to the aforementioned Sarratt. Zay Flowers looked as explosive as ever during OTAs, but he was absent from minicamp. Rookie Ja'Kobi Lane made some highlight-reel catches, while LaJohntay Wester was a standout at minicamp. But perhaps none were as consistent as Wade, who caught a lot of passes over the three weeks.

OLB Zion Young: The pads haven't come on yet, but Young's power was still on display at OTAs. The second-round pick showed he's going to be tough to run against as an edge defender, and he registered what would have been multiple sacks and quarterback hits during the later portions of OTAs and minicamp. Young seems to be warming up.
