Biography

RANDY BROWN enters his 16th season coaching the Ravens' specialists. Originally joining Baltimore in 2008 as a kicking consultant, he has worked with John Harbaugh since Brown began coaching with the Eagles in 2004.

  • Brown has helped coach six Pro Bowl Ravens: LS Morgan Cox (2015, 2016, 2019-20), RS Devin Duvernay (2021-22), K Justin Tucker (2013, 2016, 2019-22), P Sam Koch (2015), K Billy Cundiff (2010) and K Matt Stover (last kicked for the Ravens in 2008 but earned All-Star honors in 2000 prior to Brown's arrival).
  • Under Brown's guidance, Tucker ranks as the most accurate kicker in NFL history (363-of-401 – 90.5%).

2008-22: (with Baltimore) 2022: K Justin Tucker and RS Devin Duvernay both earned Pro Bowl honors for thesecond-straight season, helping Baltimore's special teams rank No. 3 in Football Outsiders' DVOA ratings...Tucker posted a single-season career-high 142 points and led the league in FGM (37), his seventh-straight season recording at least 130 points and eighth season with at least 30 FGM, each an NFL record...Duvernay finished as the NFL's only player with at least 15 KORs and 15 PRs to rank in the Top 10 of both yards-per-KOR average (26.5 – 10) and yards-per-PR avg. (11.9 – No. 5). 2021: Tucker led the league in FG% (94.6) and connected on an NFL-record 66-yard game-winner at Detroit...Duvernay finished No. 1 in the NFL in PR average (13.8) and No. 7 in KOR average (24.1), helping Baltimore's special teams rank No. 1 in Football Outsiders' DVOA ratings...Tucker and Duvernay earned Pro Bowl and first-team All-Pro honors. 2020: Specialists LS Morgan Cox and Tucker each earned their fourth-career Pro Bowl nods…Cox snapped on all 51 punts by P Sam Koch, who produced a 44.5 gross average and 42.5 net average…Koch was the NFL's only punter to place at least 20 punts (22) inside in the 20-yard line and have no more than 1 touchback…Tucker connected on 26-of-29 (89.7) FGAs and 52-of-53 (98.1) PATs, finishing with at least 130 points for his fifth-consecutive season. 2019: Mentored the team's outstanding specialists, including Tucker, who connected on 28-of-29 FGAs (96.6%), scoring a then-franchise-record 141 points for the fourth-straight season en route to earning All-Pro...In Week 6, Tucker became the fastest pure kicker in NFL history (118 games) to score 1,000 career points...Tucker (third) and Cox (third) were Pro Bowlers. 2018: Tucker earned first-team All-Pro honors after connecting on 35-of-39 FGAs and scoring a franchise-record 141 points for the third-straight season...Tucker became the first kicker in NFL history to produce six seasons with 30-plus FGM and fastest to reach 900 career points (107 games). 2017: Tucker earned second-team All-Pro honors after connecting on 34-of-37 FGAs and tying his then-franchise record of 141 total points...Tucker scored his 800th-career point, becoming the fastest pure kicker in league history to reach the milestone...Koch placed a league-leading 40 punts inside the 20, adding an NFL-best 16 punts inside the 10. 2016: Tucker connected on a league-best 38-of-39 FGAs, posting the then-fifth-best percentage (97.4%) in NFL single-season history...He made 35 straight FGs at one point...An NFL single-season record 24 of Tucker's 38 FGs made came from 40 yards or beyond, while his 10 FGs of 50-plus yards then tied (Blair Walsh, 2012) for most in NFL history...Tucker was a perfect 10-for-10 from 50 yards and out, earning first-team All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors. 2015: Baltimore's special teams ranked No. 1 in the NFL by Rick Gosselin of The Dallas Morning News and produced two Pro Bowlers in Koch and Cox...Koch registered 42.9 net and 46.7 gross averages, ranking second and ninth in the NFL, respectively...Tucker tied for second in the NFL with 33 FGM, including 3 game-winning boots. 2014: Tucker tallied 129 points, converting 29 of 34 attempts...Koch produced the NFL's No. 3 gross (47.4) and No. 1 net (43.3) averages, both setting Ravens single-season records. 2013: Tucker earned his first-career Pro Bowl nod and set then-team records in FGM (38), FGAs (41) and points (140), hitting 33 straight FGs at one point. 2012: As a rookie, Tucker converted 30-of-33 FGAs, and Koch posted a 40.8 net average, en route to Baltimore's Super Bowl victory. 2011: K Billy Cundiff recorded a career-high 122 points, also registering 44 touchbacks. 2010: Cundiff, who earned his first Pro Bowl, connected on 26-of-29 FGAs...Koch, whose 39 punts inside the 20 ranked No. 2 in the NFL, was named a Pro Bowl alternate. 2008: Joined the Ravens as a kicking consultant.

2004-05: (with Philadelphia) 2004: Helped coach Eagles K David Akers, who earned his third Pro Bowl after hitting 27-of-32 FGAs and 41-of-42 PATs.

2003: (with Tennessee-Chattanooga) The Mocs produced a school-record 1,336 yards on 65 KORs and set a single-game conference record with 259 KOR yards vs. Vanderbilt.

2000-02: (with multiple pro and college teams) Served as a kicking consultant for various pro and college teams, while running several national kicking camps.

1998-2000: (with Chicago) 1998: K Jeff Jaegar produced 90 points by converting 21-of-26 FGAs...P Todd Sauerbrun posted 49.4 gross and 42.1 net averages.

COLLEGE: Was a four-year letterman (1985-88) at placekicker for Catawba, where he posted 234 points in his career...Earned NAIA All-America recognition, All-South Atlantic Conference honors and Academic All-American accolades in 1988...Set five Catawba kicking records and was a 2008 inductee into the school's Hall of Fame.

PERSONAL: Brown was elected mayor of Evesham Township, NJ, in 2007, a post he held until 2018...Has worked in TV and radio broadcasting, including with Comcast SportsNet, WIP Radio and ESPN Radio in Philadelphia...Prepped at Cherokee (Marlton, NJ) HS, where he played football, baseball and soccer...He and his wife, Trisha, have two daughters, Ryan (17), who sung the national anthem prior to a 2022 Ravens game, and Mackenzie (15), and a son, Tyler, who is a special teams assistant with the Philadelphia Eagles.
