Ravens: 'We Got Our Kicker Back'

Justin Tucker had to bounce back for the first time during his NFL career last week.

As a rookie, Tucker missed only three kicks all last season, all in different weeks. He never missed more than one in a game.

In Week 2 against Cleveland this season, Tucker uncharacteristically shanked two kicks, both wide right, from 50 and 44 yards.

Tucker came back with a strong showing a week later against Houston, nailing all three of his attempts through the uprights from 28, 45 and 43 yards away.

After the game, Kicking Consultant Randy Brown went up to Head Coach John Harbaugh and said, "We got our kicker back."

"We had our kicker back on Wednesday," Harbaugh told reporters. "He came out on Wednesday and did a great job. Tucker's a rock-solid guy. He doesn't let things bother him too much. I think he's really confident."

Last week, the problem with the first kick was a mis-hit. On the second miss, Tucker overthought the breeze inside M&T Bank Stadium and the ball stayed true to the right.

There was a slight wind again Sunday against Houston (9 mph at kickoff), but Tucker's kicks were true.

His first was a straight chip shot. His second, from the right hash, curved left but stayed inside the uprights. His final kick, from the left hash, was right down the middle. All three came with Tucker's trademark thud, as he connected well on all of them.

Tucker came into the 2013 season with the goal to go perfect throughout the entire year. That can't happen, but Tucker can still have an excellent season. He's now 5-for-7 overall on the year.
