Ngata Sits Out Practice

Pro Bowl nose tackle Haloti Ngata did not participate in Wednesday's practice as the Ravens began their preparations for the Green Bay Packers.

A hip injury held Ngata out of action.

Ngata's injury had not previously been disclosed, as he played all of Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins. Ngata was on the field for 35 of the 59 defensive snaps against Miami, finishing with two total tackles.

Ngata has dealt [add] with a number of injury issues in the past, including knee and shoulder problems. This is his first time listed on the injury report this season.

In addition to Ngata being sidelined, fellow nose tackle Terrence Cody also sat out of practice as he recovers from a knee injury. Cody has missed the last two games.

The only other non-participants were linebacker Albert McClellan (shoulder) and center Ryan Jensen (foot).  Defensive tackle Marcus Spears (knee) returned to practice after missing Sunday's game.

Osemele Back At Practice

Left guard Kelechi Osemele was back on the practice field Sunday after being pulled from Sunday's game because of back spasms. He was listed as a limited participant.

Osemele told reporters that the back spasms are an "on and off issue." He also said that a critical component is the sleeping arrangement he has the night before the game.

"One of the major things is that the bed I sleep in has to be really firm, and it was a really soft bed," Osemele said. "That's another thing that kind of throws my back out of whack."

Osemele's back started acting up during pre-game warmups, and the Ravens ended up pulling him after the first offensive series. A.Q. Shipley took over at left guard once Osemele came out of the game.

WR Jones Limited Participant

Wide receiver Jacoby Jones (knee) was a limited participant in practice. The speedy wide receiver was limited in practice all of last week, but still ended up sitting out his fourth-straight game.

Jones hopes to have a better chance to play against the Packers.

"We're going to see how it goes this week in practice, step it up a notch and see where it takes us," Jones told reporters.

Jones has not played since the season opener against Denver, when he injured his knee by getting run into by Ravens safety Brynden Trawick trying to field a punt. He has spent the last month rehabbing the knee to get back on the field.

"I think it's more mental," Jones said. "You can fight through certain things because every player on the team is fighting through their nicks and pains.  It's more mental than anything."

WRs Stokley, Brown Return To Practice

Veteran wide receiver Brandon Stokley (thigh) and rookie Marlon Brown (thigh) were also limited participants Wednesday.

The Ravens re-signed Stokley Tuesday after initially cutting him over the weekend. Stokley has dealt with the injury for the last two weeks, and Harbaugh indicated after Sunday's game that he would not have been ready to play had the Ravens kept him on the roster.

Brown missed the Miami game after suffering the injury against Buffalo in Week 4.

The other limited participants were running backs Bernard Pierce (thigh) and Shaun Draughn (ankle).

LBs Mathews, Jones Ruled Out For Packers

The Packers are dealing with injury problems of their own, as linebackers Clay Matthew (thumb) and Brad Jones (hamstring) were both ruled out for this week's game. The* *Packers also ruled out backup running back James Starks (knee) and offensive lineman Greg Van Roten (foot).

The only limited participants for the Packers were reserve cornerbacks Jarrett Bush (hamstring) and Casey Hayward (hamstring), and linebacker Andy Mulumba (ankle).
