The Ravens' outside linebackers are revving up for the stretch run.
Acquired at the trade deadline, Dre'Mont Jones cashed in on his M&T Bank Stadium debut with 1.5 sacks in Sunday's 23-10 victory over the New York Jets.
Jones led all Ravens outside linebackers with 40 snaps and went from 60% snap share in his first two games to nearly 68% against the Jets. He had four tackles and a pass deflection on third down.
Though it was Jones' first time playing in front of the home crowd, he's seemed like a perfect match since arriving in Baltimore.
"He's really just fit right into the culture," cornerback Marlon Humphrey said. "He's really a pro about the way he goes to work, learning [and] just everything he does. He's fit in really well, and I think, obviously, the trade is really paying off with the sacks he's getting."
Jones said he felt the "lit" energy in M&T Bank Stadium. He wants to get to the playoffs for the first time in his seven-year career and knew he was in the right place as soon as he was traded to Baltimore's gritty defense.
"Contrary to what some may believe, I'm a pretty angry person," Jones said with a laugh. "I fit the mold."
While Jones' arrival has helped spark the pass rush, rookie second-round outside linebacker Mike Green had his best game yet as well.
Green had the defense's highest Pro Football Focus (PFF) grade among those who played at least 10 snaps and his best grade of the season (78.0) by far. He was credited with five pressures and one sack.
Here are more takeaways from the Ravens' PFF grades and snap counts:
- Ravens offensive tackles Ronnie Stanley and Roger Rosengarten had strong games. Per Next Gen Stats, Stanley held Jets edge rusher Will McDonald IV to only one pressure across 22 pass blocking matchups, and Rosengarten held his primary matchup (Jermaine Johnson II) to zero pressures across 18 matchups.
- Right guard Daniel Faalele cracked the Ravens' top five highest grades with a bounce-back effort. His 68.6 grade was his third-highest of the season.
- Fullback Patrick Ricard posted his best PFF grade (78.2) since returning from his calf injury. Ricard had key blocks on both of Derrick Henry's 2-yard touchdown runs.
- Keaton Mitchell had the offense's highest PFF grade despite logging just two carries for 10 yards. He had a 35-yard carry late in the fourth quarter that was wiped out by a holding penalty on Tyler Linderbaum. Mitchell hit 21 mph on the run, per Next Gen Stats.
- After playing just nine offensive snaps last week following a four-game absence, wide receiver Devontez Walker saw a big jump to 25 snaps versus the Jets. He only needed one snap to turn Brandon Stephens around and make an impressive sliding 30-yard catch.
