Ike Taylor Brings Trash Talk Out Of Torrey Smith

Torrey Smith is not known as much of a trash talker.

But when he lines up against Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Ike Taylor, that tends to change. Taylor has a reputation of being one of the bigger trash talkers in the game, and he seems to bring that side out of Smith.

"I haven't met anyone that talks as much trash as him," Smith said. "When I get to play him, it's always pretty fun because I'm not a guy who talks, but he gets it out of me every single time."

Smith and Taylor have gone through some good battles over the years, and Taylor got the best of him in their two matchups last season. Smith was held to four catches for 40 yards in the two games last year.

In Smith's rookie season, however, he had five catches for 71 yards and an iconic game-winning touchdown over the Steelers.

As much as Smith knows he's going to be in a battle with Taylor this weekend – both in trash talking and performance –he stressed that he has respect for the 11-year veteran.

"He's been around for a while, so he knows what it takes to be successful," Smith said. "I have a lot of respect for him, and obviously, he's been one of the top corners in the game for a while. You know he's going to bring it, and you have to bring your 'A' game as well."
