WILLIE TAGGART is a 24-year coaching veteran at the collegiate level and is in his first NFL season as the Ravens' running backs coach. Prior to his 2023 Baltimore arrival, Taggart held head coach titles at five Division I programs (Florida Atlantic – 2020-22; Florida State – 2018-19; Oregon – 2017; South Florida – 2013-16; Western Kentucky – 2010-12). He also previously served as Stanford's running backs coach (2007-09) and in various offensive roles for his alma mater, Western Kentucky (1999-2006).

• As a head coach, Taggart guided Florida Atlantic to the 2020 Montgomery Bowl and South Florida to the 2015 Miami Beach Bowl.
• In 2016, Taggart led a 10-2 South Florida team that finished the season ranked (No. 19) for the first time in school history.

2020-22: (with Florida Atlantic) Finished his Florida Atlantic tenure with a 15-18 overall record. 2020: Was undefeated (4-0) at home, 4-2 in Conference USA play and 5-4 overall, earning a Montgomery Bowl berth.

2018-19: (with Florida State) Tallied a 9-12 record over two seasons leading Florida State's program.

2017: (with Oregon) Led Oregon to a 7-5 record.

2013-16: (with South Florida) Amassed a 24-25 overall record at the helm of South Florida's program. 2016: Led the Bulls to a 10-2 record and No. 19 final ranking, marking the second time in program history UCF was ranked at the end of the regular season...Taggart's offense averaged 43.6 points per game, marking the country's fourth-best figure, while his team's 291.8 rushing yards per game ranked fifth in the nation...His offense broke 33 USF program records, including scoring, total TDs, total yards, rushing yards, yards per play, yards per rush and points per game...Coached the American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year (QB Quinton Flowers) and a program-record 10 All-Conference selections. 2015: Finished 8-5 in the regular season, earning an invitation to the Miami Beach Bowl.

2010-12: (with Western Kentucky) Returned to his alma mater, posting a 16-20 record as the Hilltoppers' head coach. 2012: Guided Western Kentucky to a bowl-eligible 7-5 record. 2011:Led WKU to victories in seven of its last eight games, finishing with a 7-5 overall record. 2010: Broke WKU's 26-game losing streak with a victory in his first season.

2007-09: (with Stanford)Served under head coach Jim Harbaugh as Stanford's running backs coach.2009:Helped tutor Doak Walker Award winner, Jim Brown Trophy recipient, Pac-10 Offensive Player of the Year, consensus first-team All-American and Heisman runner-up Toby Gerhart...Gerhart led all RBs in the nation in rushing yards (1,871), rushing TDs (28) and points scored (172), while setting several Pac-10 and school records. 2008:Gerhart averaged 5.4 yards per carry, notching 15 rushing TDs and a then-school record 1,136 rushing yards.

1999-2006: (with Western Kentucky) Held various titles as an offensive assistant at his alma mater. 2002:Helped direct an offense that posted a school-record 432 points, 5,749 total yards and 263 first downs, culminating in a NCAA Division I-AA National Championship.

COLLEGE: Was recruited by Jim Harbaugh to play for Jim's father, Jack, at Western Kentucky...Started at QB all four years (1995-98), setting many school records...Left the university holding the NCAA Division I record for rushing yards by a QB (3,997)...Two-time (1997-98) finalist for the prestigious Walter Payton Award – an annual honor given to the top offensive player in I-AA football...His jersey number was retired by Western Kentucky in 1999...Graduated with a bachelor's degree in social sciences in 1998.

PERSONAL: Produced a decorated prep career at Manatee (Bradenton, FL) HS, where he led the Hurricanes to a 5A state title as a junior and was a first-team All-State and All-Conference selection as a senior, after directing Manatee to the state championship game for a second-straight year...He and his wife, Taneshia, have two sons, Willie Jr. and Jackson, and one daughter, Morgan.
