Game Recap: Ravens Shut Out Bengals on the Road

Q4-1920x1080 (15)

In the coldest game in franchise history, the Ravens defense turned up the heat.

The Ravens shut out the Cincinnati Bengals, 24-0, on the road Sunday for a division win.

With both teams knowing how important the frigid game was in the AFC North race, it was the Ravens who put the Bengals' playoff hopes on ice. Baltimore held Cincinnati to 298 yards and kept Burrow scoreless for the first time in his career as a starter.

Here's how the Ravens' win went down:

Turning Point

With 1:05 left in the first half, the Ravens went on a five-play, 80-yard scoring drive that gave them a 14-0 lead heading into halftime. Zay Flowers made two critical catches on the drive. He first made a 26-yard catch down the sideline in tight coverage on the first play of the drive. Lamar Jackson capped off the possession by dropping the ball into a bucket to connect with the Pro Bowl receiver for a 28-yard touchdown. The score marked Flowers' first time reaching the end zone since Week 1. Flowers finished with 68 yards on three catches.

Top Play

Trailing 17-0 midway through the fourth quarter, the Bengals were knocking on the door inside the Ravens' 10-yard line, trying to put points on the board. But on fourth down, Kyle Van Noy and Alohi Gilman delivered the knockout blow. Van Noy dropped into coverage and picked off Joe Burrow, and before Van Noy could be caught, he handed the ball off to Alohi Gilman, who took it 84 yards to the house.
