Transcripts: Ravens vs. Dolphins, Week 9 (10/30/25)

HEAD COACH JOHN HARBAUGH

Opening statement: "It's good seeing you guys here. I'm going to give you this; it's what I told the team. This is the warrior's song. This is something we had talked about. It basically says, 'You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness. It will not come near you, because you have made the Lord your dwelling place.' Our guys kept faith, and they showed a lot of toughness, a lot of courage, faith and guts, and that's what it takes. It takes belief, and it takes toughness. It takes faith, and it takes guts, and I'm proud of our guys for that. We had two games that we needed to win in [five] days, and they were absolute must-wins, both of those two games. For our guys to step up the way they did, and to step out the way they did, and play the kind of football they did with their backs to the wall – on the canvas – and to get back up and do what they did, is commendable. It just means we're two games under .500. That's all it means, but we're two games under .500. We were four games under .500, so that's where we're at. Now, we'll get a couple of extra days, and we'll get ready for Minnesota in Minnesota – the second leg of our three-game road journey here. So, I'm proud of the guys, and I'm proud of the faith that they showed. What questions do you have?"

It was QB Lamar Jackson's first game in over 30 days. Do you have anything to say to him after that performance? (Jamison Hensley) "I said, 'It's been a long journey, man.' It's been a hard road and not just the [last] 30 days, but even before that. I'm proud of him. I'm proud of the way he came out and played. I'm proud of the way Tyler [Huntley] played last week – both of those two guys played well. I think [quarterbacks coach] Tee Martin deserves a lot of credit. He did a great job with those guys and [offensive coordinator] 'Monk' [Todd Monken] and the offensive coaches. I thought the gameplan ... I thought what we've done with the offense in the last two weeks has been really, really, really good – really, really excellent. So, we have to keep building off that."

The defense had multiple turnovers today, and since the bye week, they've been producing turnovers. Just what can you say about how they've responded? (Carita Parks) "I think the defense played great – [with] all of the things that you talked about. We talked about the 'ball assaults,'[as] we call it. We hadn't had enough of them. We've been trying, but we couldn't get the ball. To get the three [turnovers] today – [it's the] first time, I think, we've gotten multiple turnovers probably in a game and that was really big. To see the way we did it, we had two guys that caused fumbles and recovered two fumbles; then to throw the ball deep down the field, Malaki [Starks], to make that play deep – that's why we drafted him, because that's what he does. For him to make that play was really a way to close the game out for sure. I think [defensive coordinator] Zach [Orr]'s doing a great job. Zach is holding those guys together, keeping his poise, never flinching, always coaching all the details and all the guys. [senior defensive assistant/secondary] Chuck [Pagano] and [defensive backs coach] 'Double D' [Donald D'Alesio] and [defensive line coach] Dennis [Johnson] and [inside linebackers coach] 'Tucc' [Tyler Santucci] and [outside linebackers coach] Matt [Robinson] – those guys are just doing a great job."

What in particular do you think changed with the offensive approach in the second half? What were you able to do to get in a rhythm offensively in that third quarter? (Jeff Zrebiec) "I think we just didn't get backed up. We were backed up a little bit on the change a couple of times. We got backed up in field position once or twice between the second quarter and the third quarter. Lamar [Jackson] had the big scramble that got us out of trouble there – I think on the first drive [of the second half], I think it was. That was probably the key play of the whole game, probably. Because if not, you're back, you're kind of in that second-quarter mode still, and that's what Lamar can do, and that's what he did. Lamar had a great game – I mean [he had] four touchdown passes. You think about the resiliency of the whole game by the team. You think about Lamar making plays like that. Think about the extended plays that were made there then in the red zone, and not just Lamar, but guys like 'Bate' [Rashod Bateman]; 'Bate' working to get open late on that first touchdown pass, and Mark [Andrews] working to get open later on a touchdown pass on extended plays. Then within drives, our offense's ability to finish drives to convert, get ahead the chains after the second quarter, first quarter and third quarter, then fourth quarter and to extend drives. That's resiliency throughout the drives and even within the plays. I thought our defense showed the same thing. That's a tough offense to defend. I want you to know – that's a good football team. They're very well coached, both sides of the ball. I thought we had a great gameplan, and I thought [Miami Dolphins' head coach] Mike [McDaniel] had a great gameplan. These guys are hard to defend. They do some really tough things. They do some things that really challenge your defense, challenge your eyes, put you in tough spots, [and] the angles are really tough. The timing is tough, and they're really well coached. They do a great job. So, for our defense to hang in there, to make plays and get off the field when they had to, especially in the red zone, was really important."

S Alohi Gilman with the strip – how big was that, to your point about that, and why has he played so well for you guys? Why has he fit really so well? (*Brian Wacker)* "To your point, it was a great play. That play got them stopped. It didn't feel like we were stopping them at that point, and that's what I'm saying – they're hard to defend, and you have to do that. You have to come up with some plays, and there [Alohi Gilman] came up with a play. Guys have to come up with plays, right Teddye [Buchanan]? [Teddye Buchanan: 'Yes sir.'] Guys have to make plays, and he makes a play. So, I think that's part of it. He really is that kind of a player, but also, the fact that he – and you'd probably say this, Teddye – he's so aware. He understands the defense so well. He's so darn smart. He makes a lot of calls and adjustments. He kind of calms everything down out there and gets us in the right spot – especially with an offense like that with all those motions. You have to have guys [like] him and Kyle [Hamilton] and Marlon [Humphrey]; they do a great job in the back end."

It has been a slow start for the tight ends this season, but to see TE Isaiah Likely come back, TE Mark Andrews, TE Charlie Kolar with a receiving touchdown, obviously in the mix there. What did tonight remind you about what this group can do for the pass game that makes them unusual? (Jonas Shaffer) "I think that's a great point. So, to see those guys come alive, and [Lamar Jackson] knew they were there, [it was] just a matter of getting them the ball, and we were able to get them the ball on play-action a number of times behind the linebackers, which was big for us. All three of those guys – and Charlie [Kolar] at the end. Then Isaiah [Likely] had the big third-down conversion. So, we want to be able to spread it around and go to everybody, and I think that's where we want to be."

When a player has not been out there for that long, with like QB Lamar Jackson, I'm sure there's always concern that there's going to be rustiness or whatever. Could you sense – and I know you didn't practice a lot this week, because it isn't a regular game week – could you sense that he was going to be this sharp in this game? (Jamison Hensley) "Yes, because Lamar Jackson was as sharp, mentally, all week, and he was that sharp on Tuesday when we went fast; [during] half of the practice, we went fast on Tuesday, and he was 'lights out.' He was impressive. So, I was pretty optimistic that he was going to play well."

Was T Ronnie Stanley OK? Did you give him a break? (Jeff Zrebiec) "Yes, just [wanted to] get the weight off Ronnie Stanley's foot and his ankle a little bit at the end that we did that. We were going to take some more guys out on defense but didn't come to that."

John Harbaugh: "So, how about this guy? [Points to ILB Teddye Buchanan] Can I announce it? Is it already out there? Defensive rookie of the month right here. Teddye Buchanan, here he is."

TE MARK ANDREWS

On what this win means for the team right now: "It's a credit to the short week, coaches and players coming out here ready to go, knowing the gameplan and just doing our job. We put in the work, play-after-play, no matter what happens. I think in all three phases, guys stepped up and made big-time plays, and that's what this team is all about."

On what it meant to get in the end zone twice in one game: "I just tried to find ways to get open and be creative. When you have No. 8 [Lamar Jackson] back there, he's so versatile and so good at finding the open guy. It felt really good."

On what it does for this team to have QB Lamar Jackson back on the field: "[Lamar Jackson] is a two-time MVP for a reason. He looked incredible tonight. I know that we are just going to continue to get better and better and better. [With] No. 8 leading the charge, we are a dangerous team."

WR RASHOD BATEMAN

On how it felt to have QB Lamar Jackson back out on the field: "It felt good. It felt good to have our quarterback [Lamar Jackson] back out there. We're definitely a better team when he is out there, so it's good to have him in the back out there."

On what it meant to get the tight ends involved in the passing game tonight: "It felt good. We have some of the best tight ends in the game, and we all know that. To be able to get them involved and showcase what they do ... We all know what Mark [Andrews] can do. We all know what 'Zay' [Isaiah Likely] can do, so it was good to see them go out and get their flowers tonight."

On TE Charlie Kolar feeling like he gets overlooked by opposing defenses: "Oh yes, for sure, [Charlie Kolar] does [get overlooked]. I'm not going to lie; he does. They forget about Charlie. That's why he was so wide open; nobody is ever expecting Charlie to go out for a pass, but he can run routes, hit his sides [even at] tight end. He does a good job [in the] run blocking."

On WR Zay Flowers' performance in South Florida: "It was good. I wish [Zay Flowers] would've gotten in the end zone on that catch he had. It was fun to see him playing back at home. [It was fun to see] all the Florida guys, so I'm excited to see everybody play."

On how it feels to win two games in a row after a slow start to the season: "It just feels good to be winning. It doesn't feel good to be on the other side, so to be able to keep stacking these wins, it feels good. We have to keep going."

On if it feels like the team is getting their identity back: "I don't want to say that yet. I don't want to say that yet. We still have some work to do."

On how happy he was to see the defense only allow six points: "That's Ravens defense, so it's good to see them shake back and play the ball that we know they can play. I think we both had each other's backs today, and I think that showed tonight."

On what the sideline was like during the game after a strong performance on both sides of the ball: "I know how the defense has been talking about takeaways and all that, so it was good to see them. They made a statement before the game. Pregame, they came in and said that they want to have a lot of takeaways, and I definitely think they made that happen tonight."

ILB TEDDYE BUCHANAN

On if the team felt like the last two games were must-win games: "It was definitely a 1-0 mindset. Playing in this league, I've learned quickly that, yes, it is one game at a time. Every team is extremely talented [and] extremely well coached, so yes, it was one game at a time. It's going to continue to be that as we go down the back half of the season."

On the resilience of the team after a 1-5 start to the season: "With the type of guys that we have – I think their play on the field speaks for itself – but just the type of men and leaders that we have on the team, I'm not surprised at all. [It's been great] coming in as a rookie [and] getting to learn from guys like 'Ro' [Roquan Smith], Kyle [Hamilton] and Marlon [Humphrey]; that's just to name a few. Just getting to learn from them and seeing what type of guys they are, I'm not surprised at all [by] the way we've fought in these last two games. But, we have a lot more work to do, and we'll continue to do that."

On if he's felt the team's momentum after winning back-to-back games: "Yes, winning always feels good. To get two [wins] in a row, I'll definitely say the vibes are higher. But, like I said, we have a lot more work to do. We'll get started on Minnesota soon."

On winning the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Month award and what's been clicking for him recently: "My teammates and my coaches around me make it super easy for me. They put me in really good spots. Just the trust that they have in me allows me to play free. It allows me to play fast. When we have the offense playing how they've played, it makes things easy for me, so I just do my job and let the rest take care of itself."

On the emotional lift with QB Lamar Jackson back on the field: "It feels great to see Lamar [Jackson]. Lamar is a guy I've been watching since I was a teenager, a young kid, so to see him and to know that he's our quarterback gives our defense extreme confidence, knowing what offense is going to do. Yes, it's hard not to feel good when you have Lamar Jackson out there."

On the challenge of playing on a short week: "I thought it was fun. You get to play two football games in five days. It kind of reminds me of when you have a test coming up, and you had to study really quickly for it, but that sometimes pushes you to study harder and to prepare as best as you can. That's really what these games are about – especially these Thursday games – preparation, energy and physicality, so I thought we did a good job of bringing that on a short week."

On if he's starting to see the focus on turnovers: "Yes, absolutely. That's always a focus of our defense. To get three [turnovers] tonight, it definitely is contagious, and we'll look to continue to spread that, if you will, coming up."

S ALOHI GILMAN

On how he is integrating into the defense so far: "I came in at a weird time, and I wasn't able to experience the first chapter, but it has been cool to be here and see everyone shift in their mindset to winning football, which is what is ingrained in this place. I'm just happy to be a part of it and just be a person that can help and contribute the best that I can."

On if his timing of joining the Ravens impacted his assimilation into the team: "Yes, I think it definitely gives me a different perspective. I'm coming in with a whole other perspective. I didn't experience those same experiences they experienced earlier, so the way I'm approaching it is, 'How can I make this team the best that I can be? What is my role, and how do I do it the best that I can to bring this whole thing to life?' I think that's where we're at right now. We're in a good trajectory, and we have a lot of ball left, but we're going to celebrate this one and just keep rolling from here."

On how quickly the momentum of a season can change in the span of a couple of days: "The NFL is a crazy game. It's a crazy business to be a part of. One day you'll be on the West Coast, the next day you'll be on the East Coast, and I'm just happy to be a part of this team. It has a winning culture. [Head] Coach [John] Harbaugh and the rest of the staff do a great job. I'm just going to focus on what I have to do to be the best version of myself, and if it's being around the ball constantly, giving good energy, being a patrol guy back there – that's what I'm going to do. I just can't wait for the future."

On how significant his takeaway was for this team: "I think it's huge. Anyone who gets a takeaway early, it just starts that momentum, takes that momentum early. [The] offense capitalized on it with the score, and it gets everyone in that rhythm, that flow where you're aggressive. You're aggressive, and that's just the only thing you're thinking about, so yes, there are some things we could clean up, but mentality-wise, I think we brought it the right way, and we kept it the rest of the game."

On what it says about QB Lamar Jackson being out for 30 days, coming back and scoring four touchdown passes: "Well, in my experience in the past playing this guy [Lamar Jackson], you have some long nights before the games, so I'm happy to be on his team. I know the guys who are going against him are probably going through the same experiences. Obviously, it was a great win, a great job by him. He is, obviously, an MVP for a reason, and it's just the beginning. I feel like he's getting comfortable back [there] and getting into his groove, and that's just the beginning. So, where can we go? The sky's the limit."

On how his partnership with S Kyle Hamilton is going so far: "It's like riding a bike. It's like two homeboys playing pickup at the YMCA, so me and 'K-Ham' [Kyle Hamilton] just picked up where we left off. We, obviously, connect on a different level, because we have some experiences together. We have similar personalities. I don't know if it's the Notre Dame in us, but that connection is easy, and I'm just happy to be around him. He's one of the best, if not the best guy in the league, and to be around him, to make plays with him, I'm just having a blast doing it."

On what stood out to him after watching QB Lamar Jackson practice this past Tuesday: "It's just the confidence. It's the approach. It's the mentality that [Lamar Jackson] brings, and it's what he brings to the rest of the offense, as well. Obviously, he has talent on the field, but the mentality, the confidence he brings around and he elevates everybody. I think that's pretty cool to see playing against him, but [with a] firsthand experience being around him, he's just himself. He's a beast, and I'm happy he's my quarterback."

RB DERRICK HENRY

On how different the vibe of the team is after winning two games within a week: "I thought the vibes were good. It was good. Great to win two in a row. [The] vibes are high with the team. In all three phases, guys just focused and [were] locked in. I think it showed today in another win for us."

On what it meant to get all of the tight ends involved and what was their impact on the game: "They do all the dirty work. I'm happy for those guys. Their time was coming. So, [I am] happy that it happened today on primetime. [Those] guys got the opportunity and took advantage of it. Charlie [Kolar] [with] two touchdowns [in] two straight games. So, I don't know, [he's] Pro Bowl Charlie!"

On what it is like to have QB Lamar Jackson back out there: "I think that you see everybody's happy when Lamar [Jackson] is out there. He gives everybody the opportunity to make plays, and you saw that today. He's going to find you if you're open. He's going to do whatever he can to get everybody involved. That's the type of player he is. That's the teammate he is. It speaks when he goes out there and plays."

On if he could tell how much of the Ravens Flock traveled to Miami: "Oh, yes, [the] Flock traveled well, and [during] every National Anthem, when they do the, 'Oh!' I thought we were back in Baltimore. That was loud. So, shout out to Flock Nation, and we appreciate the support [when] traveling. It's not easy, but it felt like a home game, for sure."

On what the dialogue was in the second half to sustain offensive drives: "I think [we] just stayed locked in. We were stringing plays together, and then once we did that, we finished the drive with points. I think that's all we were focused on was just how to finish drives and put points up, and we did that."

On if head coach John Harbaugh or offensive coordinator Todd Monken mentioned running the ball more during halftime: "No, I think this is the identity [that] we want [to have], to be able to run the football and be efficient and dominate the line of scrimmage. We want to do that, and I think we just had to go out there and execute. Shout out to the offensive line, tight ends and everybody who was blocking. 'Pat' [Patrick Ricard] - having 'Pat' back is huge. So, yes, it was just great execution by everybody."

On how it felt to get the win in the hometown of fellow teammates: "The boys are coming back to the crib. They're Florida boys. It was always good to come back, especially for them at home, playing in front of their family. Everybody they grew up knowing was probably here tonight, so I'm happy for them. [I am] happy for Lamar [Jackson]. I know they were all screaming for him. When I go home to Jacksonville, it was always fun. It wasn't fun getting the tickets, but it was fun playing in front of your hometown."

On if he has a special name for the tush push with TE Mark Andrews: "[Mark Andrews] knew it was coming, and Tyler [Linderbaum] knew it, too. So, when we practice it, I make sure I push every time just so when we are in the game, it happens. So, he knew what was coming, for sure."

On if he could sense the excitement from the team because of QB Lamar Jackson's return: "Yes, for sure. Heck, yes. Whenever you are away from the game, you always miss it. With an injury, all you've got is time. So, that time goes by slowly, and I know [Lamar Jackson] wanted to get back and play, but it was even better that when he came back, it was in his hometown. So, [that] probably gave him a little bit more juice."

On what two wins in a week can do for the momentum of the team: "Well, that should keep us out of the losing column, so we'll take it. [It's] just a great momentum builder. [We will] just focus on being 1-0 each week and not get too far ahead of ourselves. We'll enjoy this one, get a little bit of time off and come back ready to work again."

QB LAMAR JACKSON

On if it felt like he missed a month of football: "Yes, a little bit. I just said this out there; I missed a pass to 'Bate' [Rashod Bateman] on the first drive, so it was going through my mind the whole game, but yes, it's cool. We got the 'W.'"

On what was going through his mind: "I just wanted to put points on the board. I didn't want to start off too slow. After that play happened, I was ready to go. It kind of ticked me off a little bit."

On how much his second-half scramble helped get the offense rolling: "I actually thought that was a [defensive] lineman that was chasing me; that's why I wasn't really going. Then, I found out it was a linebacker, and I was like, 'I should have taken off, for real.' I feel like it helped out a little bit. It got us going. I think we scored; we capitalized [and] scored another touchdown after that."

On throwing four touchdowns in his first game back from injury: "It was awesome. Like you said, I just wanted to get out there with my guys [like in] the Texans game, but unfortunately, I couldn't. It's just great to be back [and] like I said, get a 'W.'"

On if his hamstring felt OK on the third-down pass to TE Isaiah Likely: "Yes, it felt great. It felt great. I didn't have any problems. I was feeling good out there."

On what happened during halftime that made the team come out strong in the second half: "I just felt a little bit [more] comfortable, and our guys were just ready to score. Shout out to the offensive line – they did great. Al phases, all skill positions and our running backs, those guys were just locked in and wanted to put points on the board, because we only scored twice in the first half."

On the play of the tight ends in the game: "The tight ends played a huge game for us. Like you said, all of those guys – Charlie [Kolar], Mark [Andrews], [Isaiah] Likely – they do it all. [They] block, catch the ball [and] run sometimes. Shout out to those guys. They played a wonderful game."

On if he was talking about the pass to WR Rashod Bateman on a third-down on the first drive: "Yes. I didn't like that he beat him. He beat the receiver, and we were doing that the whole week in practice. I don't know. I tried to do a chop a little bit, so mechanically, I feel like that's why the ball was off."

On if he feels the momentum of the team building: "Yes, it's do or die, win or go home, and usually, we start off winning games. We never [are] behind, but right now, we're behind, and we all have to step it up."

On if it feels like the season would have been over if the team lost tonight: "No, like I said, we're locked in. We know it's do or die. You have to go out there and play football. We can't worry about mistakes, because mistakes happen. You're in the NFL; things like that are going to occur, but we just have to move on and keep doing what we're doing."

On winning in South Florida especially for WR Zay Flowers who had about 60 guests at the game: "I was hoping [Zay Flowers] got in the end zone, but the last time we played down here was like 2021 [on] Thursday night, because I think we played Minnesota, then [we] played the Dolphins, and we lost. So, we weren't trying to let that happen again. Some of the guys were on the team, but I just felt like I couldn't lose this game, coming down here and performing in front of the crowd again. Shout out to everyone on our team, because we got the 'dub.'"

On how many guests he had at the game tonight: "That I know of? I don't know. I believe I saw some familiar faces when I was just out there, but I don't know. I wasn't worried about that. I was trying to win."

TE CHARLIE KOLAR

On the offensive performance tonight: "We were super inefficient in the first half. I think we had three 3-and-outs; that's not what we want to be as an offense. It feels great to get a win. It's awesome. [We will] finishing on a short week, [so we] get to enjoy a little breather on the weekend. But yes, we have to look at the tape. We have to be better on assignments all across the board. We have to be better and more physical up front. The O-Line and tight ends, we have to keep getting better. We can't put our defense in a spot repeatedly."

On what the offensive performance says about how impactful QB Lamar Jackson is: "It's pretty unbelievable. Sometimes I look back there [at the backfield] and it's Lamar [Jackson] and Derrick [Henry], and I'm like, 'Lovely.' Did you see him catch the toss? [He has] good hands, soft mitts. He's a great golfer." (Laughter) "I've still never seen him eat, so I don't think he's a human. I think God just created a ... I think he messed up and put too much goodness [at football] in one person. He's pretty unbelievable. Obviously, he's maybe the best athlete on the field, and then also, he's so efficient and good with his throws. I just think he's unbelievable. Like I was saying, obviously we believe in 'Coop' [Cooper Rush] and 'Snoop' [Tyler Huntley], but still having your MVP back, it just brings a whole new level of confidence in the team and the offense."

ILB ROQUAN SMITH

On what tonight's win meant to the team: "It's just another step in the direction that we know we're on our way to, so I think it was just part of the process that we're all on. We're excited about it. It was a great win on Thursday night in front of the world, and then on a short week, it just shows how resilient we are. But, [we're] just 1-0 for this week, so we'll enjoy it for the night and a little over weekend, and then we're on to the next opponent."

On what forcing takeaways on defense does for the team: "It was amazing, man. And, for myself, [with my ball], I owe the entire organization for that dropped pick. That was a layup. I don't know how many you would get like that in your career. It was really bad on my behalf, but for the other guys, I'm extremely happy for those guys being able to get the ball back, and also for just staying tough on fourth down, as well. And then 'Lo' [Alohi Gilman] getting around the ball, Teddye [Buchanan], Marlon [Humphrey], all those guys, and obviously the late pick with Malaki [Starks]. One of the best things he does is catch the ball out of the sky, so I'm excited about that. I'm excited about where we're going, but it's just part of the process."

On their success in the red zone on defense: "Red zone defense is where you really show who you are as a defense, and I think what we showed is that, obviously, people can get down there, but being able to prevent them from actually scoring, that's a lot. That's a four-point swing and sometimes a seven-point swing if you force them to a three-and-out or force them to a field goal, and they miss it. So, I think that's what it's all about, and we just have to continue to keep [them] there and try not to let them get into the red zone."

On getting two straight wins with their backs against the wall: "It just shows you who we are, but I've never had any doubt in my mind on who we are. I said it weeks ago; I'm an optimist myself, and each and every guy knows the process that each and every guy has fought through, and we knew where we were going to be, and we knew we were going to be in this position on how we were going to respond after the bye week. I feel like we're showing exactly how we're responding, and it's just a part of the process. That was just two [wins], and we're on our way to many more."

On how proud he is of the tackling performance they had and in limiting the Dolphins to six points: "That truly defines the defense. How can you tackle in space? How good of a tackling team are you? I feel like we're a really good tackling team. Obviously, there's room for improvement. Even on that one early in the game, I was off my feet trying to dive for the [play] with No. 28 [De'Von Achane] when he got those extra yards. [I was just] trying to engage with the lineman and then get off and dive. [It's] little things like that, like being able to just stay with them, but I just think it just shows the type of talent that we have on the team and how each and every guy are sure tacklers. We just have to keep improving, and then when you run to the ball, that definitely helps out a lot."

S MALAKI STARKS

On his first NFL interception: "It's special. That's the goal, is to always to get one. We had a bunch of turnovers tonight. We really did. I think the defense showed out and showed who we could be, and I'm just blessed. It's a gift from God, for sure."

On getting the defensive identity back: "It just speaks to all the hard work that we put in. We've just kept our head down and kept working when things didn't go our way. And now we're on the climb to get to where we want, but we have to keep working."

On how proud he is that the defense held the Dolphins to six points: "It's always special when you see six points on the board. Obviously, you don't ever want there to be points on the board at all, but just to kind of see what we can do and where we can go, it's special."

On what was working so well in the red zone specifically: "It was just the communication. Guys [were] just flying around, having fun, really knowing your job inside and out. It was a short week, so the preparation was on a very fast turnaround. A lot of guys were on it, knew what they had to do [and] knew what job was going to come with it, so I think that was the biggest part."

On ILB Teddye Buchanan being recognized as the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Month today: "Teddye [Buchanan] is awesome, man. He's doing such an amazing job, and that speaks to a lot of his hard work, as well. It's hard to win that. It's hard to win anything in this league. So, just to see his preparation and the way he carries himself and what he does, it's special."

On S Kyle Hamilton's impact on the defense: "[Kyle Hamilton] is able to move around and be who he is. He doesn't have to stay in the box, which I think is special, and I think is very important. Just for him to go out there and play his game – and we play around him – I think it's awesome."
