Ravens Inactives vs. Bills in Season Opener

Running back Keaton Mitchell is among the Ravens' six inactives for the "Sunday Night Football" season opener against the Buffalo Bills.

Baltimore's inactives are:

  • FS Reuben Lowery
  • RB Keaton Mitchell
  • FB Patrick Ricard
  • OT Carson Vinson
  • TE Isaiah Likely
  • OLB David Ojabo

Mitchell was one of the Ravens' offseason standouts and looked explosive in the team's preseason opener, but a hamstring injury hampered his momentum. Running back Rasheen Ali, who is fourth on the depth chart, also plays on more special teams units. Ali and Justice Hill will handle kickoff return duties.

With Lowery inactive, the Ravens will have just three safeties suit up for the game: Kyle Hamilton, Malaki Starks, and Sanoussi Kane. The Ravens' other two undrafted rookies, linebacker Jay Higgins IV and cornerback Keyon Martin, will both play.

Likely (foot) and Ricard (calf) were ruled out before the game. The Ravens activated tight end Zaire Mitchell-Paden to take Likely's spot, but it remains to be seen how they'll pivot without their five-time Pro Bowl fullback.

An inactive Ojabo leaves Odafe Oweh, Kyle Van Noy, Tavius Robinson, and rookie Mike Green as the team's four outside linebackers.

Baltimore is dressing all five of its defensive linemen against a physical Bills offensive line that will look to get the game going with James Cook and quarterback Josh Allen.

The Bills' inactives are wide receiver Curtis Samuel, cornerback Tre'Davious White (groin), defensive back Jordan Hancock, center/guard Sedrick Van Pran-Granger, offensive tackle Chase Lundt, and rookie defensive end Landon Jackson.
