Dallas Clark Scratched, Brandon Stokley To Play vs. Falcons

The Ravens signed two new receiving weapons this week.

One will play in the Ravens preseason home debut versus the Atlanta Falcons at M&T Bank Stadium Thursday night. One will not.

Wide receiver Brandon Stokley only participated in three practices this week after signing with the team Sunday. Tight end Dallas Clark only got two sessions under his belt after officially signing Monday.

It's still unknown how much Stokley will actually play. He admitted that he still has a lot to learn about the offensive playbook. He may not be ready to take as many reps as the other starters, who are generally expected to play a half.

Running back Bernard Pierce also did not make the scratches list. That's considered good news after leaving the game last week.

Pierce suffered a bruised knee in Tampa Bay when he was hit on a touchdown run. He returned to the practice field this week, but he did not participate in 11-on-11 drills.

Unfortunately, wide receiver Deonte Thompson didn't make as quick a return as Pierce. Thompson suffered a sprained foot in last week's preseason debut, and scratched against the Falcons, a move Head Coach John Harbaugh said he would make earlier this week.

Guard Marshal Yanda returned to practice this week, but he was scratched. His preseason game inactivity comes as no surprise as the Ravens are going to take it easy as he returns from a shoulder injury.

Cornerback Lardarius Webb (knee) was scratched, but he suited up and participated in gameday warmups. He has been a full participant in practice.

The Ravens' other scratches include tight ends Ed Dickson (hamstring) and Dennis Pitta (hip), linebacker Jameel McClain (back), cornerback Chris Johnson (undisclosed), defensive end Kapron Lewis-Moore (knee), center Ryan Jensen (undisclosed) and defensive lineman Marcus Spears (hamstring).

The Falcons scratched four players: tight end Tony Gonzalez, linebacker Sean Weatherspoon, running back Jason Snelling and fullback Bradie Ewing.
