With the 2008 season only days away, Ravens fans now have a whole new group of ways to get to M&T Bank Stadium on game day.

Beginning with this weekend's game against the Bengals continuing throughout the regular season, "Home Game Transportation," a Park and Ride service, will be available to fans though a variety of private charter bus operators. Due to new federal rules regulating special event bus services, the MTA will be unable to provide that service as in years past. The Ravens took steps to ensure fans had as many options as possible to get to games throughout the season.

"We're really pleased to offer this service to the fans," said Roy Sommerhof, Vice President of Stadium Operations. "We realize there was a little bit of a disruption because of the ruling that the MTA had to abide by."

The operators for the 2008 season are Hunt Valley Motor Coach, Golden Ring Travel, Bill Rohrbaugh's Charter Service, Woodlawn Motor Coach, Huber's Charter Bus Service, Avalon Tours and AS Midway.

Below is a list of the 2008 Park and Ride pick up locations:

Ravens fans can purchase passes in advance for the entire 2008 regular season, or just pay by individual game. Unlike the MTA buses from previous seasons, however, reservations in advance are recommended.

Fans are urged to book these buses as soon as they can. Pre-payment will guarantee a seat for fans, and there are discounts for fans who purchase the season pass, as long as it is bought by Sunday, September 7. Fans with special needs or disabilities can also be accommodated, provided they call with requests in advance.

Baltimore City has also played a role in this new initiative, allowing the buses to park in Stadium Lot O during the games, which the city owns. Fans will be dropped off near M&T Bank Stadium in the same locations as previous seasons.

"We're happy to do it," Sommerhof added. "We hope the fans appreciate it, and we look forward to it being successful."
